Just heard that the average NFL fan will watch over 18 hours of commercials and only 6 1/2 hours of game play for the season. That's crazy!

Much of those 18 hours will be spent either taking a piss or grabbing a new beer.

Yeah most are really watched but crazy to think there is 3 times more commercial time then actually game time.

I think they'll be lucky to have 18 people actually watching the games.this season...Why watch all the chaos when you can catch it on red zone without the commercials and politics ??

I can't imagine that the NFL, which has approved all the absolute political rubbish this season, would NOT inject the same crap into Redzone.

I've read where sponsors want to cut back spending on commercials since the games/events aren't generating the viewer numbers.

Huge.

Hmm... meanwhile I watch every game on a second screen and mute it any time an advertisement comes on or some dickhead in the booth opens up his face hole.

Guess I'm still technically 'watching'. Nobody with a brain (which is not much of our Country at this point) watches advertisements. That's your piss break, flat out mute and go to LiberalTube, or get food. And if you're one of those FAGS (yes I'm going 100% there) that watches the SBOWL for the commercials, you need to find the nearest 10+ story building/cliff and walk the fuck off it.

Sponsors, local leaders, activists, etc. have a gun to the NFL's head to do this virtue signalling. If it bothers you, ignore it and enjoy the games.

How can teams afford to pay Mahomes and Watson when the NFL doesn't get the attendance and ad revenue from the games?

As long as they play the games, each team gets about $160m per team from their TV deals.

Corporate sponsorships pitch a ton more.

The only revenue the NFL is losing is attendance revenue and probably a pretty significant dip in merchandising sales (not a lot of reason for fans to buy new hats/jerseys if they aren’t attending a game).

Yes that is a big amount of money. But as a percentage of overall revenue the league takes in, it isn’t as big as most think.

Good points.

The TV deals are based on revenue projections from ads. If advertisers claim circumstances void their commitments to buy ads, then I see some problems ahead with the networks taking a big hit.

Ad revenue is based on ratings of the games being shown. So, if they put on stinker games, as they are sometimes required to do by contract, ratings dip and revenues fall.

It's hard to get definitive numbers, but several outlets like SI and Forbes claim that the Kaepernick SJW antics were either a major or minor reason for falling NFL ratings in earlier years.

The announced changes to on-field graphics and on-uniform politics have made me decide that I will not watch the NFL this year. They can either get rid of that stuff and go back to football or forget about me as a fan
