So ~65.7M spent of the 83M cap, with 4 forward spots to fill basically. I'm optimistic at least 2 of them get filled by young guys. Frost (.894), Aube-Kubel (.715), Vorobyov (.784), Rubtsov (.894), Farabee (unsigned as a college guy, but .900 I expect) would be options.

So you probably have ~15-16M to spend on free agents. And buying out AMac is a legit possibility this summer if they want to. If they do, 1.2M against the cap for 19-20 and 1.9M against the cap for 20-21, instead of 5M in 19-20. So a total of 18-19M to spend.

Panarin, Duchene, Pavelski, Skinner, Zuccarello, Hayes, Nyquist, Dzingel, Lee, Ferland, Johansson, Eberle, and Silfverberg are all slated to be UFA's this summer up front. One or two of those guys make a serious improvement to the forward corp.

Karlsson, Gardiner, Stralman, T. Myers, are available on defense as well; if you determine you need to upgrade there. I don't expect Karlsson or Gardiner to get to UFA, but Stralman and Myers would be legit upgrades and could be available.

Forwards - 9/13 - 38.1M
Giroux - 8.275
Voracek - 8.25
JvR - 7.0
Couturier - 4.3
Patrick - .925
Lindblom - .925
Laughton (RFA) - 2.2x3 (similar to Raffl's last contract (2.35x3), little less offense shown though)
Konecny (RFA) - 4x6 (Could be similar to Couturier's deal, or Ghost as the defensive equivalent. Lots of other deals similar to this. Has shown some good potential, but is inconsistent. Take the risk on the term to save on the cap hit, IMO)
Hartman (RFA) - 2.2x3 (similar to Raffl's last contract (2.35x3), little less offense shown though)

Defense - 8/7 - 23.9M
AMac - 5.0
Ghost - 4.5
Gudas - 3.35
Hagg - 1.15
Myers - .678
Morin - .700
Provorov (RFA) - 6.5x6 (Falls in to the, #1 potential, but struggled a bit this year, RFA, something like Seth Jones (5.4x6) or Dougie Hamilton (5.7x6) I think. With inflation and perhaps has shown more to this point)
Sanheim (RFA) - 2x2 (Sanheim has bridge deal written all over him, 1 year of experience and has been good, not great. TJ Brodie in 2013 signd a 2.1x2 deal, I think this could be similar)

Goalies - 2/2 - 3.73M
Hart - .730
Talbot (UFA) - 3.0 (assume Talbot gets something similar to what Elliot got, 3x2)

Total: 65.7M

There is only 9 forwards listed.

Our defense is still suspect and our PK has not been addressed in this scenario.

a number of these free agent forwards are equal or better than Mark Stone who just got and 8 year deal at 9.5 per season in a tax free state. In a taxed state we would probably have to give anyone of the top guys 11 million per season.

So I'm reading that Hartman can put the puck in the net......that's a plus
I'm reading that he's not only a scraper but he lives to get under guys skin.....that's a double plus
But can he straight up knock a guy the fuck out like Simmer can????

Just sucks that we traded our baddest enforcer out.....
But rumor is Fletcher is considering giving him a contract once the season is over......

So who knows.

Interesting lineup tonight. I am taking An Eternal Void, our 4th line winger tonight. I hear he has game.

Giroux - Patrick - Konecny
Lindblom - Couturier - Voracek
van Riemsdyk - Laughton - Hartman
Knight - Raffl - An Eternal Void
