Wow! Playing for Sanders? I can see the draw, but still, an FCS team over a P5 storied program like FSU? I know FSU has been struggling, so maybe he figures he can play for a winning FCS team for a couple seasons and he can always transfer to a better P5 school later?

I can think of 3,000,000 reasons why he made this decision. And I can’t argue with any of those reasons.

What’s weird is why he can get more money there than Florida st

I would guess that FSU is dedicating more $$ to other players? And Deon being affiliated with Barstool had something to do with him getting the $$.

All that said, let’s say FSU could only scrounge 1.5m for him (completely made up number). Is going to a FCS school over a top P5 school a good move, just for 1.5m difference? How will this move affect his draft position? How will affect his learning of the game and fine tuning his craft?

If FSU (or any other top P5 school) could not get him ANYTHING, than it is a simple 3m vs 0 argument. But this is apparently the top recruit in the nation. I assume ‘Bama could get him something. Or SOMEONE.

I agree in laying the kids. It is their likeness, after all. But it does completely change the landscape, and that will be interesting to watch over the next 5 years or so.

Big Ben went #11 overall in the 2004 draft, and he came out of Miami (of Ohio). If the QB coaches know what they are doing, he'll be fine.

Up until about the 80s Jackson State use to put multiple players into the NFL every year. By the 80s and 90s they would still get people in the NFL but at a much lower rate. Several NFL legends and Hall of Famers have come out of small schools to include the FCS. P5 schools dont mean automatic draft stock just because of its name or brand.

The schools are not supposed to be involved and technically shouldn't be allowed to determine who gets NIL deals and who doesn't and how much they are getting. Although we see some schools trying to do just that (looking at you texas) but they are technically not supposed to be involved with NIL deals.

Deion Sanders has a real family feel with his coaching. Something all of these kids need. Easy decision.

Top5 fcs qbs in recent years.

However, hunter is a cornerback. So if the QB coaches are coaching him up, id guess he has issues.
