Welp.... 20 games and counting for the Indians!!! Tip my cap to them!

Red Sox destroy Oakland (as they should have)

Thought Yankees would win

Dodgers finally win a game!

MLB "Politely" declined Montreal's offer to host the Yankees and Rays.. Yet they decided to play the games at CitiField... Interesting

OK, ESPN... Just going a little overboard on this but..........

Real or not? Kluber all but locked up Indians' 20th straight win by ninth pitch

To be honest, I thought the game was over on Corey Kluber's ninth pitch of the game. Ian Kinsler had led with a double and was sacrificed to third. Bunts are usually bad, but this one was somewhat defensible: As good as Kluber has been, the Detroit Tigers' best hope for a win over the Cleveland Indians very well might have been to scrape across a run and then hope for a shutout.

Kluber's ninth pitch was a 3-2 fastball to Miguel Cabrera. It had good movement as it started outside and spun back toward the outside corner. Cabrera took it, but home-plate umpire Scott Barry rung him up. It was outside, but you don't win 20 games in a row without a few generous calls from the umpires. Cabrera shook his head and mouthed "wow" as he walked to the dugout. Then Nicholas Castellanos struck out, and the Tigers got only two runners as far as second base the rest of the night, both on two-out doubles.

My mind spits with an enormous kickback.

@DirtDirtDirt

caught the 30 for 30 last night on the 1987 scab replacements for the redskins. hell of a watch.

i had no idea the redskins were the only team to remain defiant in the strike (i was 12). had no idea that win over Dallas was what got tom landy fired.

literally a team of scrubs beat 3/4 of a full cowboys squad. i also had no clue they had to get a QB on a prison furlow so they could fill a roster.

none of those guys got SB rings...even tho they went 3-0 during the strike, and some guys held on after the strike.

no rings.

Cubs, Cardinals, and Brewers all win. So everything stands pat in the NL Central.

Sonny Gray has another good start, just gave up the two solo shots, his ERA in NY drops to 2.66 but they've only won 3 of his 8 starts.

Christian Vazquez is hitting .395/.441/.593 in his last 23 games, stretching back to July 29th.

So the Nats are only 4.5 behind the Dodgers. Very possible they end up passing the Dodgers setting up a Dodgers/NL Central winner NLDS

And it was down to 3.5 yesterday, but Nationals lost and Dodgers won last night.

I'm sure the Dodgers will get back to losing now that they got that Kershaw start out of the way. Holy now just realized they come to Washington this weekend. This could get interesting really quick.

Really only 3 playoff spots out of the 10 are up for grabs right now. 2nd AL Wild Card, 2nd NL Wild Card, and NL Central.

AL East is still in play, but both those teams are making the playoffs.

Good call. Didn't realize that either.

Also, Cleveland is now just 4 games back of the Dodgers for best record in baseball. Which actually matters this year since it determines home field for the World Series

I must say the Dodgers schedule is pretty favorable after this weekend series in Washington. They end the season with 4 in Philly, 6 game home stand vs the Giants & Pads before ending the season away in Colorado.
