Looks like today might be the last day of golf for the year.

rain for the next three days then highs only in the mid to low 30's after that. Hope they're wrong.

Got a 2pm tee time, should be able to get in 18 holes before dark if the course is moving.

Man...I don't envy you guys up north...golf season in north GA is really about 10 months, Mar thru Dec. In Jan and Feb it's hit or miss here too...we probably get 10 or 12 50 deg+ days. in mid winter.

I feel for you. I'm planning on getting out tomorrow and hopefully Monday. Then hoping to get another round in during December before a scheduled tee-time at Lake Buena Vista in Disney World on 12/21.

I must say, this is the most golf I've played since I was in high school with essentially years between rounds. Learned a few things about my swing and have gotten more consistent shooting in the mid-80s most rounds with the occasional 79, along with the occasional 92.

Hit'em well...I'm playing Sat...near 60 tomorrow.

I have played that Disney course...very nice...probably tough to do if you took family down, but Southern Dunes just south Disney...in Haines City...outstanding...more elevation change that you'd expect in central FL.

Well, shot an 82 today with a 43 front 9. Course was pretty soggy, but I was hitting the ball well of the tee and decent approach shots, just couldn't putt worth a damn today.

A sister in law is coming down with us and is helping with the kids. She gets a 'free' trip, but offered to help pay for gas and tips at the restaurants.

My tee time is at 7:40 and just need to meet them for dinner at 4pm, so I should have a couple hours after my round to shower and chill with a few beers before meeting up. Will break up the trip for me with a couple days in the parks, golf, and then another couple days in the parks before driving back on Christmas Eve.

To be just getting back into it...you're posting pretty good rounds.

Doing honey dos all morning, I got a late start on Sat. and ended up walking on by myself about 2...got in 15 holes (+7 thru 15)...Hit my tee ball on 16 and lost it in the air, actually found it in the right rough and hit the approach, lost it again in the air and said that's enough.

Both Friday and Sat look good this week weather wise so I expect to get back out on my own terms.

I got out a couple of days ago and tee'd off at 28 degrees. Finished at a balmy 38 degrees. Friend skied a drive on a 250 hole, bounced the ball off the frozen water hazard and it bounced over the green. I hit a 6 iron off the frozen lake for shits and giggles. best ball I hit all day. But these are the dark times for Seattle golf. If it's clear it's a frost delay, if it's raining, well, it's raining.

Which leads me to the question I came here to ask. What kind of yardage you guys lose in cold temperatures. At near freezing I'm at least two clubs.

Please tell me you all play honestly? I can't tell you how many fuckers I play with that "shoot great rounds", but said rounds are rife with foot wedges, mulligans and gimmes.

My favorite is the one handed putt from a couple feet out where when they miss, it was a given that it was a gimme.

I love when those dudes get in a tournament.

Even with all those I shoot a shitty round. I didn't know you could give yourself a gimme.

In retrospect, maybe it wasn't the brightest thing to do. Nine holes was about eight or nine too many. It was cold, windy and the rain was closer to ice than it was to water.

I did learn that the pants I wore are not waterproof, they're more like a windbreaker, same with the vest. My shoes are waterproof, but when the water is running down your legs, it doesn't matter, your shoes fill up with water.

I have now golfed every month in Minnesota except February. Eleven down, one to go.

Low forties...raining...gusts up to 30mph....but I did it.

It's in the 50s here in the Boston area, cloudy but you still can play

Wish I was retired like my dad, he's been going out every day for the past 3 weeks!

I'm typically in the mid to upper 80s, but can spread it from 78-92 depending on the day, making a few birdie putts and the amount I've been drinking. I'll lose a ball or two (include the penalty in my round), but also find a half dozen, so I've been playing with lost golf balls since June. Only tournaments I've played in have been captains choice for charity. I'd never feel I was good enough for individual tournaments and would rather go out there for fun where the only pressure is who's paying for the 19th hole.

You sound like yer a decent stick.

Since I'm not pro and am paying for the shit, I'll allot myself a mully per nine. I play pretty straight tho, most the time cuz I wanna know what my real score is.

I will say, when I lose a ball that shouldn't be lost....aka, it's not in the drink or the yamps....that shit pisses me off...a lot of those times I will just toss one down and so fuck yo rules.

And if I am sucking major ass, there are times where I'll say fuck the scoring altogether. That doesn't happen but once every 5 years or so.

The big ones to me are, play it as it lies and putt-out.

Played nine, shot a 47. Putting sucked, greens are covered in sand and debris. The 11th greens is usually so fast that when you putt down hill it will roll off the green no matter how soft you tap it, yesterday it took me three putts to get it down the green near the hole....and another one to get it in...for a nice double bogey. And that scenario kinda carried over to the other holes.

The more I play, the worse I get. If I keep it to say...5 rounds a season, all 5 of those rounds will be good-to-great for me. If I play weekly, by the 3rd week, I start to decline.

Spacing it out, let's me forget my bad habits an tendencies.
