Shaq Barrett also has an unreal PFF preseason grade. I still say Wade Phillips and Kubiak have to be startled at how much talent the Broncos have laying around.

I think on the defensive side of the ball they have to be excited and scared about cut down day all at the same time. Talent wise man it is going to be hard to pick the last few guys on this roster. Probably means good chance a couple of our last cuts get picked up by other teams before we can get them on the practice squad.

Another guy doing really well according to PFF this preseason is Ben Garland. He has graded out as the best guard so far in preseason and 2nd best OL player in the entire league. Now yes this is against 2nd string guys but should show he has actually done pretty well and good chance he still stands a chance of making this roster. The biggest thing he has working against him is that so far the only position he has played in practice is LG. Usually like your back ups to play more than one position.

According to PFF Shane Ray has a +6.2 grade. The next closest 1st round pick rookie is Leonard Williams with a +2.8 grade.

So far this kid has proven to be worth everything it took to trade up and get him. He has graded out positively in every game against the run and pass. Before the draft some were saying size wise he couldn't hand the run game but so far he is showing this game is not bigger than him.

I thought it was Crash. Now I will say Ray hasn't looked as good as Barrett and hasn't put up the stats but sometimes the stats just don't tell the whole story of how disruptive a guy is. I would say the same thing about Antonio Smith. There is a reason he ranked as the 6th best Interior DL player last year. He doesn't put up a ton of sacks but he knows how to really collapse the pocket helping other guys to get the stats. The Safety is the perfect example of that play doesn't happen without Antonio Smith driving his guy right into the face of Kaepernick.

In fairness, Ray was playing more time against 1's than Shaq did.

Exacta mungo. Both have looked very good to me and as long as Smith doesn't suffer any legal stuff, he is going to be a big asset for that D.

I have not knocked him when we drafted him or said he was not a good player I was hoping he would take over a game is all von miller style is all

The only thing I don't like is his personality that is it .. to be honest ...never have formed any opinion on his playing as of yet .. when he talks for me it is worse than someone scratching on chalk board .. I was hoping he was a brilliant player to make it easier for me to root for him is all ..I have never pulled for a Broncos player to suck ever . Why I did not want his number with my name is he is not my cup of tea as a person .

Crash, I can respect your opinion.

If you want to choose a player based on interviewing, I'd nominate Kenny Anunike. He is obviously bright, articulate and has a great voice. If you can ever catch an interview with him, I highly recommend taking the time to do so.

Hmm I thought he has done pretty well handling himself in the media. I mean for a guy that got busted a week before the draft I really appreciated how he owned up to his mistake. He didn't run from it or try to pass on blame to others. It is why I actually felt better at the idea of us taking him as usually somebody who can come out and own his mistakes like that is somebody who knows he did wrong and wants to do better. When you then look at how Randy Gregory handled his situation he just kind of ran from it. Or look at Sheldon Richardson who is pleading not guilty to the charges against him and him coming before the media saying he didn't do anything wrong even though he was caught going what 120 mph with a child in the back seat running from police. At least Shane Ray owned up to his mistake and wants to show through his actions that he can do better. He has a great mentor in Ware and Miller to help him keep that promise.

Yeah I actually thought he presented himself quite well during and since his arrest. I`ve def seen a lot worse from players who messed up.

Remember he was not arrested. There was a writer who put in his article that he had been arrested and he tweeted him very quickly that he was just charged not arrested. He was not high when they pulled him over he just had drugs in the car.

And you are right we have seen worse. I'm just glad he is now working with Von Miller. Von could have headed down the Aldon Smith path of being that promising player that throws it all away but he found a way to get his life back on track. Having Miller to tell him of what that other side looks like should be a great help for this kid to know how easy it is to destroy a promising career.
