Anyone else confident their team has a decent chance of going undefeated this season?

All of our tough games are at home and we will be favored in every game we play in so it will be a disappointment if we are not undefeated.
OU won't suffer a loss imo until they meet up with Washington in the playoffs.

It's extremely difficult to go undefeated in football. Only 1 P5 team has managed to do so in the last 7 years. Because of that, you're a fool if you're confident that your team won't slip up once or twice no matter your schedule. That said, I would say Clemson probably will have 2 or fewer losses, and 2 losses would be an enormous disappointment. After having a brutal schedule for the past few years, next year's looks to be pretty weak. I'd say Clemson has a decent chance at making a 4th appearance in the playoffs and Kelly Bryant again throwing the game away (since I highly doubt Dabo has learned anything from Saban).

Holy shit. Things obviously change from season to season but only one team that finished ranked last year, barely at that in NC State plus it’s a home game!

Dabo’s building something special for sure. Any chance that Trevor Lawerence could grab the starting spot? I’d love to see it. I watch my fair share of Clemson football and maybe I’m being too hard on him but I just don’t think Kelly Bryant is any good at all.

I really don't know if anyone will go undefeated in the playoff era but Alabama will test that theory next year, seriously look at their schedule, what a cakewalk!

If they win the playoff they will be the first unbeaten to do so

There's a few underdogs that can surprise teams on here like maybe Boston College, but other than a stunning Syracuse type upset there's no way Clemson is losing

We've had those type losses each of the past two years. If we don't take measures to fix our passing game we'll do it again this year.

Hard to go 12-0.

Our schedule is kind of embarrassing this year, so anything's possible, but @LSU is never easy, especially if it's at night
If you guys can't beat the cookie monster you need to stay home.

Here is to mud in your eye, OP.

(That should keep you wondering)

You can put Wisconsin in there again. Their three OOC games are in Madison and they play the easy B1G West.

Their toughest game will be AT Penn State who will be with Saquon Barkley this year.

Apparently it doesn't :D

Spoken like the true loser of the Iron Bowl ... congrats on the natty though.

For Auburn:
Sept. 1: Washington, Chick-fil-A Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta
Sept. 8: Alabama State, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Sept. 15: LSU, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Sept. 22: Arkansas, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Sept. 29: Southern Miss, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Oct. 6: at Mississippi State, Davis Wade Stadium
Oct. 13: Tennessee, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Oct. 20: at Ole Miss, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Nov. 3: Texas A&M, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Nov. 10: at Georgia, Sanford Stadium
Nov. 17: Liberty, Jordan-Hare Stadium
Nov. 24: at Alabama, Bryant-Denny Stadium

Outside of the Chic-fil-A game, our schedule is back loaded. My concerns are that we have lost our running backs and three O-linemen. The good news is that we have Coach Hand back on the O-line and I have great confidence in him.

IMHO there are not any sure losses on the schedule. If we make it past Washington, our toughest game until November will be LSU @home. We have a chance to go into the DSOR undefeated. From that point, all bets are off. @UGA and @Alabama in two weeks is a tough row to hoe for anyone. Can we do it? Yes. Confident? Never.

Washington beat Auburn, Auburn beats UGA and Bama ... that's three teams right there who finish the season with one loss. Ohio St. trips up vs Penn St., who trips up vs Michigan who goes 8-4 like they always do.

Finished it for you.

Playing Liberty the second to last week is such horseshit.

It is but still that is a tough ass schedule, especially down the stretch. It’s also the reason they were sitting at #2 despite two losses heading into last season’s conference championship game.

That is subjectively. You are objecting to a time not an opponent.
November should be purely conference games or an OOC rivalry game. Playing FCS in November is worst than playing them in September.

This line of thought intrigues me. I can see an argument that all games should be P5 games, although I do not agree with it, but to argue that if we swap our Washington game with the Liberty game then somehow our schedule will be okay even though we will have played the same teams.
