Its hilarious to see these guys go live on social media to feel sorry for themselves. Sorry, but the fake outrage fad is over, and won't help you gain sympathy, or your jobs back.

The money grab might be over for college football, next round of tv deals might not be so big.
CBS makes a shit load off the SEC deal.

The problem is when ESPN pays 1 billion for Monday Night football alone. I think college sports are fine for a while but the pro sports are going to get tagged.

College sports are still a very good deal for networks because of the price and volume of programming.

Maybe they should shit can Steven A Smith and just maybe the ratings might go back up?

Or give Steve Young the lead spot on the NFL desk? And dump Berman, Hasslebeck and Dilfer?

Rating dips are a result of the problem I stated. You're saying that a consequence of the ultimate problem is the cause of this issue. It's idiocy.

Obfuscation and a poorly worded sentences won't save you here, meatball.

I bet you're having a can of spaghettiOs for lunch and eating it with a corked fork.

I've never heard of most of these people. Kinda surprised they had 100 on-air personalities to cut. That's probably part of the problem.

Are you kidding me, Willie? Read the thread. Maize has it all figured out. The one and only problem ESPN has is the content contracts they hand out. Everything else is fucking awesome. Idiot.

No. This doesn't even have to do with ratings of their programs. You don't understand anything about this issue.

Cable companies bundle ESPN in with basic cable packages, whether people want it or not. ESPN is the most expensive channel in that lineup in terms of guaranteed contracts. As people cut their cable subscription, ESPN is losing like $6/month per cable cutter.

I only watch ESPIN for CFB, I DUMP this portion of my direct tv at the end of the season, they can go fuck themselves after the seasons, those greedy mofos. That part of my package saves me $40.00 or so a month

I am part of the problem apparently as I have known who a total of 2 people are thus far, and really I only recognize their names because of people posting their tweets.

I personally don't give a shit about sports opinions on ESPN and don't watch/read/listen to any of the so-called experts. I'd rather hear from people I can tell directly they are fucking stupid.

I watch the games, so if they fire all these people and then just do replays of games and such more often in replacement, then I'd probably watch more ESPN. If they stop covering the games the same, then that will suck.

If you thought that ESPN gave zero fucks about the NHL, they really don't give a shit now. 3 NHL guys among cuts so far.
They just flow with their television ratings and interest among hockey fans is lower than the NFL, MLB and the NBA.

Probably the biggest name to drop thus far. Danny Kannel is out at ESPN.

Exactly ! Let us just watch repeats called by the Voice of home team from local flagship station.
