This is actually not true. Outside of myself and a couple of others, most were shitting on the Pacers before the series as well and said the Cavs would win in a short series

Pretty straight forward statement if you ask me. Clearly stated that myself and a few others predicted a longer series but MOST predicted a short series.

I think its funny that people use the "east is weak" argument to try and diminish LeBron's success, when he is one of the main reasons the East is weak. I don't think he gets enough credit for being a big part of that .

When a team player dominates a conference for so long, it has an impact of making the other teams look like pretenders because they never get over the hump. Whereas in the west, the teams have been taking turns making it to the conf Finals, and even Finals, and they are automatically viewed differently.

Then you have the fact that teams literally pass on bringing in big-time Free Agents, because they don't believe they can compete with LeBron right now. They concede to him, and plan for the future, thereby just making the east even weaker.

I had the much easier side to prove. It only takes 1 quote to rebuff the "no one ever said that" argument.

Yes, because just 1 quote proves a point vs. what? 6 or 7? Face it, you made shit up and got proven wrong and didn't even manage to get all 3 of your quotes right. :pound:

Its called, proving a negative vs proving a positive.

I don't have the crayons or the time to stop and explain it to you.

I don't wanna hear any of that...the EC is weak nonsense. If the EC is so weak why does the WC only have a 7-6 Finals lead the last 13 years? If the WC is really that much better that conference should have dominated the Finals during that span.

Just realized this was the 3rd straight year Teague was swept by the Cavs. Poor guy.

I can agree with this up to a point. I think that it's pretty clear that at least part of the reason that the Celtics chose not to pull the trigger when it looked like they could get Butler or PG-13 was because Ainge wants to set them up to step in as the top team when Lebron gets old and starts to really decline or retires. This, rather than try to directly compete and take him down.

Having said that, I also think you are giving Lebron a little too much credit for that. The East was already the weaker conference when he came in to the league and while it has gradually gotten better, it still lags behind the West. You also have to consider that there are at least 2 and possibly 3 teams in the West that are looked as being better or at least as good as the Cavs.

Overall, while I do think that there is some truth to Lebron keeping the East down, I also think that the West has done a better job of drafting and developing players as well as getting better fits in FA (minus the Lakers of course lol).

Bullshit. It's called trying to prove a fake point and not even getting all of your "evidence" right.

Yeah, I'm not trying to say its the only reason. But its a reason that deserves to be at least mentioned anytime someone tries to use it against LeBron, imo.

You can be a weaker conference and still have the best team in the league. During the 80's, the West was considered a weaker conference than the East, but the Lakers won 5 championships during that time.

I already owned up to misrepresenting one of the quotes.

So you don't think anyone here thought the Pacers could give the Cavs a tough long series? (Spoiler alert... I can prove you wrong with exactly 1 quote. You could give me 100 quotes and still not prove yourself right).

Yeah, unfortunately for Lebron, whatever the reason(s) may be that the East is the weaker conference, it's still the weaker conference and counts against him.

As I just pointed out in a different post, during the 80's, the West was considered the weaker conference. You could make the same argument for Magic and the Showtime Lakers as for Lebron and his Heat and Cavs teams that he/they are the reason. But it doesn't change the fact that it was still the weaker conference.

On the plus side, imagine being so good that it sometimes works against you. lol

I know that 1 or 2 people predicted a long series (although I'm not sure it wasn't just to get a rise out of Cavs fans). The vast majority on here all picked a short series.

Bottom line, finding one or 2 people who said something that was wrong and then trying to act like it was everyone (which is exactly what you did before bks made his post) is pretty weak stuff.

4 game sweep.

a week of rest while the rest of the East battles it out.

bodes well for the King and the Cavs.

now- the Cavs were 12-2 the last 2 years in the East---- a win/loss ratio he never had in 4 years with Miami.

Do I EXPECT LeBron to go 12-2 this year in the East? ehh---- prob not...East is a little better this year....

but if he goes 12-4--- that will be sufficiently fucking dominant. lol.
