LA Rams select Cordea Tankersley, CB Clemson


Was wanting Pat Elfein, C Ohio St but someone got to him. The next few Centers are close in talent level IMO so I went BPA in a position we might need if we don't sign Tru.


Things I liked alot about Tankersley are:

Big game experience
speed
size

He needs to get stronger, but with our front 7 these DBs are going to get alot of balls to grab and this kid can fly.

Somebody took him right after me. Thing I was skeptical of was he's 6'6 and leverage isn't great. I want a center with lower center of gravity. Pocic could probably play right tackle. Plus there 2 guys I think that are just as good as him right behind him.

Orlosky, Fuller, and Toth are probably the next 3 on most rankings.

Like the Ju Ju pick SJ and even the thought process on the CB but the most glaring need is in the middle of the offensive line and I also like Polic better. Good job though. There are a number of centers still out there better then what we have had. Both those will go within 5 to 6 picks of each other.

Pocic is an athlete. Just didn't like him at 6'6 having to snap the ball. I think the guys right behind him are fairly good.

This would be my first mock draft. No idea how good this center class is. If they Rams think Elfein is the only starter, then it may be wise to grab him early in the 2nd. My guess is they take one of these 4th rounders and another 6th rounder and throw in a 2018 pick to move up to the 3rd on top of the picks they have.

If the center class has 3-4 starters then you can grab one later and get some playmakers early.

Rolling the dice as always. My guess is the guy they brought in (Sullivan?) will be ok at center until a drafted center can step in.

Who knows.
