I'm glad there's no offday tomorrow. The sooner this team can get back at it and forget about this shitty series the better. This one was worse than the Indians series. Maybe some good will come from it tho, we won't be seeing Sam Dyson trying to close games anymore for this team.

The bullpen has one save this year. It belongs to LeClerc. We are now in last place now. Mostly because of Dyson.

Yes.... the bottom feeder has just swept this team, donkey punched them a few times, and now we are the bottom feeder.

I hope to see better results in oakland. This team needs to win a game very badly.

How about Jeffress and Claudio being used for a combined 2/3s of an inning today? Probably another thing that factored into the decision to use Dyson out there.

The new thread title should be:

Sam Dyson and the Rangers limp into the Oakland Sewer

Have a sense of humor. At this point, It's better to try and laugh at Dyson then be pissed at him. Most rangers fans probably knew it was over when Dyson stepped on to the mound today.

It was time to take Dyson out of the closer role last time he blew it, hopefully we're done seeing Dyson in save situations for a while

Jeff made the statement after the last Dyson blown save, that the team had to stop losing games that way. Then he goes and throws him back out there after all. Personally I would liked to have seen a larger sample size of success this year from Sam before he put him in another save situation

Shitty managing.....

The vast majority of managers belonging to other major league teams would NOT have put Dyson out there today. Given what has transpired already this season and what we have come to expect from Dyson in the future. A smart manager would've tried to build Dyson confidence back up by throwing him in low leverage situations or blow out games, what does the rooster do? Trot him out there for the bottom of the ninth up by one.

I'm not even mad at Dyson. it's not his fault that someone keeps running him out there to fail every time when pretty much every Rangers fan watching knows what's going to happen except for the one guy in position to actually make the damn call.

Dyson has singlehandedly cost this team 4 games so far this year and we haven't even played 15 games yet. That's a staggering rate of failure and I can't believe that a manager at the games highest level can't or just refuses to see that.

So if they aren't able to sign Yu longterm and Hamels clearly isnt what he once was, should they trade Darvish Lucroy and some of the other pieces of value and basically try and load up on pitching prospects? Offense should be ok for a few years but pitching is going to be an issue

That's what I would do. You can't run the risk of letting Lucroy and Darvish walk after a mediocre season.

I still think a lot depends on how the rest of the season plays out.

The Rangers would probably have 8 or 9 wins if the bullpen was doing a decent job.

I would make Hamels available as well.

I would give one more major push to get Yu signed first. We could actually go after him in the offseason even if we trade him, but probably stand a better chance of signing him now than then.

What about Beltre? Do you listen to offers for him?

Yeah I just don't know what you will get for Hamels, he will have to show better than today and that playoff game last year to bring much I think.

Beltre is a bit tricky, I don't trade him for less than really high ceiling players. If someone wont give up a significant amount for him I would just assume he retire a Ranger. In other words I'm not giving Beltre away for some mid tier prospects, just to take a chance on hitting the lotto on one or 2.
