more updates for the mod:

Michael Parker --> Maryland
Shamire DeVine --> GT
Tray Matthews --> UGA

I think we also offered LB Jamieon Moss (now an ECU commit), but he wasn't on the list. And I saw one ESPN article ( Philadelphia Nike Football SPARQ Combine Recap - ESPNHS ) that mentioned in an aside that LB Ryheem Lockley got a VT offer, but pretty much everywhere else seems to say otherwise... can anyone confirm that was just an ESPN goof?

From what I've read, he really likes Oregon. My second guess was LSU. And I think that USF and WVU were on the radar too .. but haven't kept up much with him since we got our 2

I think he'd fit in well at Oregon or WVU personally .. He shows warm on 247 for: LSU, Oregon, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

Are you sure on Michael Parker to Maryland? He tried to commit a few months ago to Maryland and they turned him down the same way UVa did.

Taquan loves a good pat on the back. Perhaps, I should say NEEDS a good pat on the back.

He loves WVU because they said "need" you.

There will be a new flavor for him with every school that blows, ahem, smoke up his ass. London may be the "blow smoke" czar in VA, but we are looking at national recruiting pros here, who excel at sell jobs.

However, the team he grew up rooting for, the team he watched as a young baller, the first team he discussed when asked about his recruitment, was VT.

I think, in the end, when he sorts it all out (and realizes that every team recruiting him NEEDS him), that VT will be in his final handful, which goes against the flow of the you know what.

We will just have to agree to disagree, but there is just no chance in hell that Smoke ends up at VT. There is too much talent that would be in front of him (J.C. Coleman & Drew Harris) and now behind him (Marshawn Williams). If Smoke wanted to be a Hokie, I think he would have committed to VT by now.

You are both right in your own regards. Smoke will keep VT in his top 5 or so, and yes VT is the school he grew up watching and dreamed of going to. Yes he is very close with JC and would love to play with him, and yes he will shy away because of the RB class that came in last year. I do not think he would have committed by now because he wants to continue to get the praise of the coaches. He will end up going somewhere other than VT. Personally I think he goes OOS but that is just me...

Jamien Moss is being monitored very closely but does not have an offer neither does Lockley. Maryland did not accept Parkers commitment. I have updated the others, thanks!

EDIT: I stand corrected Moss does have an offer - thanks!

What is going on with Michael Parker? I hear academics, but lots of kids sign with schools despite academic problems. They just need to prep first. Are Parker's academics that bad or is there another problem?

multiple problems from what I have heard, his grades were so bad at one point he was academically ineligable to play HS sports, not sure if that is still the case...

Well I'll be. Rivals and 247 both say he's uncommitted. I just completely missed that that fell through. Thanks for the correction.

Heard he will need SS to play next year, but that was from a random poster on another board so...

I don't know it that's true.

Look at how many quarterbacks are lined up at UVA.

I hear ya, but the VT teams that get the most RB props are the teams with multiple RB threats.

Also, feeling better about teller to VT now after today. Got an update. He likes the outdoors a lot. Could be the swing vote, if you will.

Which one is it? Is it an update, or did you discover that he likes to hunt or fish?

Thanks for the info, I just don't know if it changes how he feels about Tech... it would presumably just be a factor in how he already feels, right?

Good on you for catching that. Another checkmark on the pro/con list for us. Its often little things that hold sway, when everything else is equal (which it isnt)

There are plenty of outdoor activities he can partake in in C-ville too....like Croquet, Jacks and Badminton.
