I will never understand the Flyers PP? They are so pass happy and wait for the perfect play rather than just shoot the damn thing on net. Everything looks slow and predictable.

PP isn't the problem it's team D and goaltending. Somehow the pens can bring up scrubs on D and it doesn't matter why can't the Flyers bring up first rounders???

The Pens forwards all are committed to Sullivan's system....which preaches tight gaps and positional play in the D zone. That makes it much easier to bring up players and plug them in.

The PP has gotten more and more stale as the season progressed. G and Jake spend too much time stationary.

And there is too much passing, shoot the puck and get the dirty rebound.

I'm sorry, but we outplayed Pitt for the vast majority of the game last night, we're just not confident yet offensively and Neuvy made a major gaffe on the 4th goal against.

I swear, the Pens must've scored their 4 goals on some silly amount of chances like only 6 or 7. Fucking crazy efficient to bail them out of what should've been a loss. Some of the penalties called in this game were interesting too. Extremely weak for a rivalry game of this magnitude.

Even after all of the BS, who knows, maybe this game even goes to OT late if Neuvy doesn't give up that extremely weak 4th goal and Simmonds doesn't get called for slashing (with exactly two minutes remaining) when he was just trying to play the puck and the other guy had only one hand on the stick.

While the Flyers did play better for much of the game and did outplay the Pens for stretches, they still were lax in their own zone too often and failed to create any kind of consistent pressure for all of their zone time and chances. I never had the sense that the Pens were in trouble after they got their second goal.

At this point I can't see Hexy being happy with where this team is at right now. I hope to see him at least shed as much dead weight as possible before Trade deadline. Not looking for studs in return for what we have to offer but at least set up a couple of draft picks to use as bargaining chips in the off season. Anything better than that would just be added gravy.

Watch Manning get two games for his hit on Guentzel also, which could theoretically fuck up our trade plans.

A possible Manning suspension at this point should have not impact on any trades Hextall has in the works. If you said it was Streit or MDZ suspended...then I would be worried.

Probably not, but we'd possibly have to call up two Ahl defenders while he is out.

Well scratch Bishop off the list. Kings traded for Ben Bishop. Is Quick done for season? His groin must be pretty fucked up to make a deal for another star goaltender. Pretty surprised by this honestly.

I understand but the Flyers have a system too but obviously the players simply don't stick to it. It's just frustrating that the pens can bring up scrub Dman after Dman with no problem yet the Flyers have first rounders like Morin sitting in the minors for years and they aren't good enough to help the team? Stolarz came up and looked great but sent right down. I'm all for patience but if players earn their way why not give them a little shot...especially if they outperform a vet.
