They're ridiculously deep now.

I guess man. I know your boys are down this year, I'm saying maybe you're giving them too much credit.

The zags best win is zona.

Beating UF and Iowa by one each on a neutral floor isn't a great indorsement. TN by 10 is ok. None are in a discussion for a potential run in March.

I would like to see how the zags would fair against zona today or any of the three that lost last night. Other conferences do not give a team many days off. That is not the case in the WCC. It's hard for me to say that's depth or just men against boys.

I was talking about Arizona being deep. I don't give 2 shits about gonzaga FWIW. They have a four page centerfold in the sports page every time they beat Pacific, Santa Clara, LMU, or whatever bullshit team they play that day.

Gonzaga says they're too good to schedule the likes of WSU, EWU, and Idaho but they have no problem filling their non conference with games against Utah Valley, Bryant, Akron, and Mississippi Valley State.

Way to go Zags.

Don't get me wrong, those guys can ball. Few has a really good team this year. But it will be difficult to win 4 or 5 games in the tourney because they won't replicate that with their schedule. They play Tennessee and follow it up with South Dakota and Pepperdine. Or their conference rival St Mary's and then Santa Clara and Portland.

Schedule 6 tough games in a row OOC and see what happens. They were in a good preseason tourney this year and beat Florida and Iowa st back to back and then played Miss Valley St.

Every team from big basketball conferences has some brutal stretches and they'll go 3-2 or 2-3 but it makes your team stronger and prepared for the big dance.

Down goes #8 UCLA. That's two top ten teams today and could've been 3.

Of course UCLA would just go ahead and make our win look less impressive. :L

I'm now more convinced than ever that Baylor will end up with a 1 seed. Even if they lose 2/3 more games the resume will be too good. All of these upsets are making it possible. And IMO they currently have the best resume as it is.

I haven't seen them play all that much, but I am curious what people think of them as a team. I'm not talking about what their resume looks, I want to know where people would place them in their list of "These are the best teams in the country"

The few games I've watched I sit there thinking, how in the hell do they only have one loss. The eye test just hasn't impressed me, but granted I haven't seen them much. I'd have to think Louisville would beat them right now on a neutral court with the way both teams have been playing lately, and I think Oregon with a healthy Dillon Brooks would go into Baylor and win as well.

They haven't been overly impressive(meaning MOV) in any of their wins really, outside of Oregon, but they didn't have Brooks. It's why some advanced metrics don't like them as much(#13 in BPI, #10 in Sagarin). They've actually been more impressive on the road in Big 12 play than they have been at home, which is weird. Which is why it's really hard to get a grasp on this team.

Right now if you lined teams up on a neutral court I'd take, Nova, Gonzaga, Kentucky, FSU, UNC, Arizona, UVA, and Louisville to beat them. Which is 8 teams. Teams like Kansas, UCLA, Butler, Oregon, i'd consider a toss up.

They are a very experienced team, which would be my guess as to why they keep winning all these close games. Out of their top 7, they have a senior, 4 red shirt juniors, and two juniors. They are an old team, which is why I think they might have a ceiling as to how good they can actually get.

Thanks for the breakdown, appreciate it.

Butler would win. Might not be better, but they'd win.

Those fuckers win basically every marquee game since 2009 lol.

I guess Oregon gave teams a good template on how to beat them and they haven't adjusted yet.

It's nice to see AZ doing well despite losing what 3 key players before the season started.

Gonzaga might have beaten us earlier in the season but I feel like if we had a rematch right now we'd win by double digits.

No way by double digits, you guys still don't have an answer for Karnowski. But it would be a much tighter game. I'd love to see a rematch with a spot in the final four on the line. :)

I would like to see how the zags would fair against zona today or any of the three that lost last night. Other conferences do not give a team many days off. That is not the case in the WCC. It's hard for me to say that's depth or just men against boys.

Believe me, Gonzaga fans hate that they play in the WCC just as much as fans of P5 conferences like to hate on them for it.

Down goes #9 UNC. Now we need Oregon, Baylor, and Gonzaga to choke today and I think that will make it so all top ten teams lost at least once this week.
