A) i thought the stat was 2% of the population.
You're pretty close on that number. All of the credible numbers out there are lower than 4%. Gallup and the Atlantic have both pointed out that Americans greatly overestimate the number of Americans falling into the LGBT categories, so that would help explain @MilkSpiller22's estimate.

Eh, I think the increasingly prevalent presence/injection of LGBT characters into TV and movies is just a flavor of the month thing. It's the trendy thing and if there is one thing the entertainment industry cares about, it's what is trendy now and what's going to be trendy next year.

1/11: Fox has picked up an extra 4 episodes for new comedy The Mick.
I liked the first couple of episodes of the Mick. I had low expectations to begin with, but was pleasantly surprised. Good to see that it's getting a longer look.

1/11: Fox announced that both Wayward Pines and X-Files could return in the future, though neither will air this year.
The X-Files returning would be must-see TV (for me).

this seems like an over-reaction, at least for now... as of now we have no clue how much they will mention it nor who it will be... It doesn't even have to be a member of young justice...

I have always seen Vixen as a lesbian, despite her and Jon Stewart's relationship... you got to remember more than 1 out of 10 people are LGBT, to think that not ONE superhero can be, is being naïve... The question is whether or not it becomes an active theme...

Backstories are great, and I agree that I don't like much when they are changed, but you also have to allow for some change when most of these origins were created a while ago...

This is fair.

I do like what they've done with Artemis despite completely changing her story. Although my guess is that she goes back to her original roots after the events of S2.

YJ has been great. Beyond that my biggest complaint about the entire first 2 seasons was that the "mole" was giving intel regarding missions they weren't even a part of.

With Sneaky Pete and Man in the High Castle (or whatever that show is called), it is almost time to add Amazon to the subscribe pool...

If you haven't watched this show, I recommend it. At least 1 legit LOL each episode.

I am still not sure there is enough there to do a second season, but they did end on a semi-cliffhanger, so it is set up.

finished the first season of Dirk Gently and really liked it. It didn't get any kind of love from anyone, but I am hoping they don't just stop with it. It was a good show.

I watched the first four episodes and bailed. I guess it got better as the season progressed? Kristin Bell is the reason I initially tried it. She is cute.
