That was a commentary on the climate of society. The Ray Rice incident changed things and now society has a lynch mob mentality.

Maybe it was ok to knock the hell out of women in Oklahoma before the Ray Rice incident, but it was more than frowned upon in the rest of the civilized world.

No dumb shit. It's about society tolerating punishing a kid and then giving him a second chance. Society doesn't want to give an 18 year old kid a chance to grow and learn from his mistake. They just want to lynch him now. So, you and all the other bitches can fuck off with your outrage.

What it really comes down to is all you hatin' bitches are mad OU won a few games with this kid. So yeah. Fuck off, bitches.

No idiot, it's about your slimey POS coach that doesn't have a problem with having worthless POS kids on the team if it helps him win. I though Jimbo Fisher was at the top of slimey coaches, but even he kicked a kid off the team for hitting a girl.

Stoops, the AD, and OU's President thought the video would never see the light of day and thought this would all go away. Well, the video did come out and everyone can see what actually happened and doesn't have the same opinion that Mixon's punishment fit the crime. Stoops even said he would kick him off the team if that would have happened today.

So go on and defend your POS woman beating RB, your win at all cost HC, and the spineless AD & President because you won a few football games.

If you are all about giving second chances, when are you going to have Casey Anthony come babysit your kids/grand kids to give her a second chance?

I just watched the video for the first time, he has a mean over hand right, he could possibly do well if he decided to start training in mixed martial arts, since it's a new sport and he's extremely athletic.

Any other time, I'd be pissed about this situation, but he was an 18 year old kid, people change.

I hope he learned from his mistake (it looks like he has), and if any type of domestic incident comes up like this again, suspend him for life.

No. sorry. That's way too logical. You must express your outrage and join the lynch mob in hopes that people will pay you on the back and not call you a woman beater yourself.

Stone Cold Steve Austin abused his wife on 3 different occasions, even admits to it, and he was a grown man.

But people love him, lol

Heard this on Cowherd yesterday and it makes a lot of sense, imo.

"Overall, people tend to do a pretty good job of separating the artist from the art, except in sports. A lot of people believe that Michael Jackson did some horrible things to kids, yet he still sold millions of albums and millions of people mourned his passing. No one suspends Robert Downey Jr. from the next Iron Man movie because of his stuff.

Yet, when an athlete does something wrong, we tend to want to take away their livelihood or in Joe Mixon's case, kick him off the team, out of school and prevent him from pursuing a career in the NFL."

What Mixon did was absolutely deplorable and in no way would I ever defend his actions. But at what point do we decide that he's "served his time" and allow him to move on with his life? If a regular student did what Mixon did, would we be saying he shouldn't be allowed to finish school and pursue his chosen career?

Mixon has to live with what he did for the rest of his life. He is going to be reminded of it repeatedly in interviews with teams, in interviews with the press and in every NFL stadium he ever plays in. That's all in addition to what he has already had to do and the civil suit that Amelia Molitor will obviously win.

Hopefully, this is something he's never done before and will never do again. Also hopefully, other players will learn from it and not do what he did.

I was just talking about Jackson the other day and we were discussing how his death changed the public's perception of him on a dime. Before he died, he was generally regarded as a creepy pedo. He dies and all the sudden everybody loved him.

Meh. He had some great songs, but he's still a creepy fucking pedo to me. I'm not familiar enough with Downey Jr to know what he's done that could be reasonably compared to sodomizing the Home Alone kid, or caving a girl's face in, but I suppose you could tell me.

Regardless, I've not once on this thread said that I don't think Mixon should be drafted or that he won't be. I wouldn't want to be in a position where I'd want to root for him, but since I'm not much of an NFL fan, ultimately Mixon's future is of very little consequence to me. I've just poked fun at the clowns on here who've been defending him and Stoops because Boomer Sooner.
