Gase will bring out the best from Moore. He's done that with all the QB's he's worked with. Moore knows the offense so that should help. The Jets will probably try to blitz and confuse Moore so he'll need to make quick decisions. The challenge is the timing on the throws because THill works more with the starters than Moore does. I agree that Ajayi & the other RB's will need to play well. The Oline will need to block well. The Jets secondary can be beat & the Jets have some starters out also. The Fins have the talent & coaching to be able to win.

One concern I have is that it took Gase a little time to get in a groove with Tannehill and the playcalling early on could have been better. Can't afford to not hit the ground running at this point though.

I think the fact that 3 of the 4 games to start the season were against very good defenses on the road contributed to the slow start.

Agreed, Moore is stepping in at a time when the season is on the line. The good news is the Jets are averaging 17.6 points a game and their defense is 24th in the league.

My point is simply , we know what we will or won't get from Matt Moore. We know his strengths and limitations - opponents do as well despite him not having played in a meaningful game for a while.

On Dion Jordan , his status is still up in the air with the team. We should know his future by days end
I think that Moore is more of a wildcard as he can bomb it down the field at anytime where Tanny is a little more reserved. This could be good or bad but if anything adds a level of unpredictability. I just hope he's not a turnover machine but I do like to see a few deep balls a game.

Apparently Jordan is out for the year too bad it would have been nice if he could have built some positive momentum to carry into next year. Fresh legs could have helped....

I am all for a QB that can and will throw it deep -- but we all know there is risk involved in trying to be a tough guy and going for it all at once.

Obviously , as a backup the sample size isn't that high even for a 5+ year veteran but look at MM's TD/INT ratio, its not particularly impressive -- which means, while he may go for some deep ones and get some TDs -- he also has a high rate of INTs... that just can't happen for us at this stage of the season.

I know I am in the minority in this, and I am more than glad to be -- but, I rather the Fins turn to a more conservative approach with MM at QB the rest of the way.

More importantly, with the revolving door that is our OL unit -- that " unpredictability" you speak off becomes a bit of a non-factor.

Id love to think that going to our backup gives us even the least bit of advantages, but I think it will even things out more so than anything with our opponents.

The first offensive drive will be very telling as far as what the approach is/will be and what Matt Moore truly has to offer once the game gets going.

Weather might be a factor tomorrow night -- wind/rain/snow in the forecast

Agreed don't get me wrong I don't want them throwing 40 times a game either but if they stack the box Moore is more than capable of tossing it up there. He's actually good at it so teams may have to back off more than at first thought. Snowing today I hope Ajayi is good at it should be as he played college in the north.

I have been on the opposite bandwagon all week, so I will continue -- I will say, I do hope the elements are a factor so that the Dolphins have to be more conservative with their play calling with MM at QB.

Not only that -- we truly do need to get Ajayi and the run game back on track

Running the ball more is a good option. It creates play action passing opportunities in addition to picking up yards on the ground. Moore will have to make a few throws though or they will just stack the box to limit the Fins' running game. I think Landry could play a big role as well as RB's and TE's catching short passes. Parker could make some plays down the field when the Fins get those opportunities.

DOLPHINS INACTIVES: QB Ryan Tannehill, DB Jordan Lucas, DE Nick Williams, DE Terrence Fede, WR Rashawn Scott, TE Thomas Duarte, TE Dominique Jones.

Outside of Tannehill, no major inactives - which at least means we get some guys back on a limited basis if nothing else.

I can see them stacking the box as their run D hasn't been that good lately. It will be up to more to audible in those situations and make the play. Stills may end up being more important he needs to catch those long ball opportunities when there. Hopefully Parker is feeling better now too....

Notable inactives for Jets - Mauldin at LB, Skrine at CB

So Forte, Marshall and other key players for Jets available though reading through social media, it seems as though it is still a question whether or not Forte does get PT tonight. I guess since they have nothing to play for and the weather sucks -- they don't want to risk guys.

That's true. Stills has been playing great lately.

The fins don't like 3 and outs on defense obviously

Fins defense off to a brilliant start. Making their back up QB look like a pro-bowler while ours will look like a back up/

Brilliant idea from Gase to differ.

Here we go with another roller coaster of a game

Then Jakeem does what he does and lets the kickoff bounce and takes it no further than the 15

brilliant starting position

Unlike our defense -- we go 3 and out on offense, and thats not a good thing

They are going to kill us with their run game and their quick drop back passes -- its our weakness with our off coverage D and suspect LB corps outside of Alonso
