The reaction afterward may have been the realisation that he was trying to score on his own net.

Regardless, the kid is gonna be haunted by this clip for the rest of his career. This shit's gonna be on SC top ten's and goof lists for eternity. That kinda sucks.

He's got some good company, though.

I had seen that article and was purposely avoiding it because I just knew that awful god damn McCabe goal would be in there and I'm just finally getting over that entire Leaf era.

Congrats to Penny Oleksiak and all, and she's awesome, but...

How isn't he Canada's most accomplished athlete this year?

You know the answer, BBB - It's an Olympics year and Penny captured Canadian hearts this summer.

Star performances by peeps in the NHL (and other pro sports leagues) rarely get serious/enough consideration especially in olympic years

/at least sid wasnt beat out for the award by a car :thumb:

From an individual standpoint was 2016 even a particularly good year by Crosby's standards?

I'm not sure anything was stopping Penny from winning the Lou Marsh this year, Milos might have taken it if he wins Wimbledon.

I guess there was that year he did all that as well as earned his black belt in jiu-jitsu and got his pilots license.

Haven't there been multiple seasons where he's won the Hart or the Art Ross or the Ted Lindsay, or even two at a time or all three at once? He didn't win any of them last season though.

I'm not saying he had a bad year or anything, I just think that the team stuff is boosting his candidacy. If Matt Murray had fallen on his face under the pressure in the postseason would many people be arguing hard for Crosby here? I kind of doubt they would.

And remember, I'm one of the biggest Crosby fans that there is outside of Pittsburgh & Cole Harbour

Team bolstering aside, if he had done all that for a Canadian team, he'd be a shoe-in.

Instead, 'Murica. :)

They're debating the Lou Marsh award winner just now on "Sportscentre". I think they made the right choice with Oleksiak but I wouldn't have argued Crosby winning either.

What does Elliot Friedman have to say on this - he covered both sports in 2016.

I quoted that to highlight the truth in it.

He thinks Ryan Lochte was robbed of the Lou Marsh award, esls.

He was only nominated for the Brad Marsh award.

Nicholle Anderson update; the treatments are showing positive effect.

Hope it continues in that direction.
