Right, obviously anything could happen, but Michigan loses so much, expecting to beat an OSU team that returns a shit load of starters is a tough ask. Does Michigan really lose 19 starters? Return Bredeson, Cole and Speight on offense and lose everybody on defense(assuming Peppers is gone)?

On defense, they will return Maurice Hurst, Bryan Mone, Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich. If Jeremy Clark is awarded another year, it'd be huge for the secondary.

But yes, the defense will be gutted, but the only position I'm really worried about is LB. Hopefully a few guys step up or we get a true freshman who comes in ready to play.

tOSU only had 6 returning starters this year and it worked out for them. Its an overrated stat. Great players are great players.

"starter" was kind of hard to quantify this year, and has been under Harbaugh. Take a look at RB for example. We lose DeVeon Smith but we have 3 guys behind him who split snaps at the RB position all year. It also depends on who stays. Mo Hurst has a year of eligibility left and Peppers has a year left. We return Gary, Winovich and Mone on the D-line. So if Mo Hurst stays, that's 4 out of 4 positions with significant playing time between them. They're trying to get a 6th year for Jeremy Clark who was injured after a couple games, and they have a good case for it. Lavert hill played a bunch of time at CB this year. And there's a ton more who were rotated in during garbage time or played all year on special teams, like Devin Bush who played in all 12 games. At minimum, we return a pretty decent D-line and can potentially have a few of the secondary positions locked up with solid starters.

Yes, we lose a ton of senior talent, most listed as a starter. But we rotated so many guys in at so many different positions that we have pretty well known quantities behind many of them.

When the game comes down to OT, you're good enough to beat a team.

When you say MI "blew it", sounds like you thought MI was favored or something.

No, it doesn't sound like that at all. I said they blew the opportunity that I explained in the preceding sentence. Never implied Michigan was favored.

You obviously didn't come to get down.

Right but weren't Wormley, Charlton, Godin and Glasgow the starters on D-Line? I know Michigan rotated in players, but every school does that.

Still makes no sense. Underdogs on the road with a second year HC don't blow games to elite programs. Poor choice of words.

Michigan should still be good enough to beat OSU.

Why? Since Ohio State fired Cooper that team in ann arbor has only beaten Ohio State twice in the last 16 years. And they haven't been good enough to get a W in The Rivalry the last 5 years. After all that Ohio State lost from last years squad this would have been the year for Harbaugh to get a W...and didn't.

False. It was written correctly and exactly as I meant it. You didn't understand it. Not my problem.

It's funny how you guys get all riled up at the mere mention that Michigan should be good enough to beat OSU any year moving forward. Michigan was good enough to beat OSU this year, unfortunately that didn't happen. Rather than re-hash the reasons why, it should be obvious that a game that comes down to OT and two plays means that both teams were good enough to win that game but one had to lose it.

You were 6 point favs. Vegas says you're wrong. The games before Harbaugh became our coach have nothing to do w now.

I think Evans is Michigan's best RB, but I understand why he can't be an every down back because of his size, losing Smith isn't that big of a deal. I think it'll be tougher to replace the other skill players with Darboh, Chesson and Butt. I know Michigan has talent waiting to get on the field, but playing young talent can sometimes be a tough transition.

The mighty tOSU barely beat 3 win Sparty, then barely beat an MI team in it's infant stage. No wonder some tOSU fans are paranoid.

We're gonna be fine.

Even there, Harbaugh managed to rotate guys in. At TE we had two other TE's outside of Butt to score TD's and both played in 10+ games this year. Wheatley & Asiasi. At WR we return McDoom and Perry, both playing in 10+ games and have some young talent behind them. Hard to replace guys like Darboh and Chesson but the hope is that the talented guys behind them can either replicate their success or do something else that those two couldn't do well, better.
