Yeah, that's the second time in as many days that I've seen you try to throw that word out there. I think you have a tenuous grasp on its definition.

"The film was well received by critics and it earned $170.8 million at the box office against a $25 million budget"No shit. Grossed $80MM at the box office.
This is some kind of bizarro world, I swear.
More like 153/199"12 of the 15 people that saw it loved it"
lolz

For me, Inglorious Basterds tops the list. A few others are Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, 28 Days Later and The Royal Tannenbaums to round out a top 5 list at the moment.
Flash Gordon with Sam Jones was one of my favorites of all times and i can't even begin to count the number of times I have sat through Robin Williams as Popeye
It was also my go to drunken movie in college.

"Worldwide, it has grossed $170,602,318, making it the first movie in 2008 to gross over $100 million"

Don't worry. I reserve eye contact for your sisterI'm aware. He wants you to watch your teeth on his shaft and QUIT TRYING TO MAKE EYE CONTACT, homo.
Because box office totals always connote a movie's acclaim or disclaim. Cloverfield has a 7/10 with over 300,000 votes on IMDB with a 77% on RT from critics and a 68% from over 400,000 fans on the website. It's not loved like freaking Shawshank Redemption, but people like it fine.$80MM according to IMDb.
Putting yours or my number in perspective, The Secret Life of Pets grossed $868MM, but sure, "everyone loved it."

The words strongly like/love were interchangeable for this thread. I mean how many movies are "universally loved"? 30? 60? 100? That would make for a boring thread, especially if the number were <50Box office totals will give a real good indicator of how many people saw the movie. A goofy cult film that 300,000 dorks watched and "liked fine" is hardly a move that "everyone loves," which is what this thread is about. Remember? You started it.
I hated NCFOM as well, and was just ok with Fargo. Miller's Crossing was great though, and Barton Fink was very enjoyableI hated No Country For Old Men... and pretty much every other piece of garbage that those brothers make.
Big Lebowski and O Brother are about the only exceptions.

Depends on the substance. I actually watched MC the first time on Perc's and hated it and didn't understand, then I watched it sober and loved it. Watching movies high are usually reserved for comediesI didn't watch Fargo until somewhat recently... and it was just as boring as I expect from the Coens. I haven't seen the other 2.
Maybe I have to watch them high. Everything is better when you're high, right?
