Conferences with 2 divisions have their divisions averaged.

#1 SEC 79.745
#2 PAC 78.46
#3 Big 12 78.22
#4 ACC 77.04
#5 B1G 75.91

And for comparison purposes

#6 AAC 69.315
#7 MWC 62.19

There is less than a 4 point difference between the #1 conference and the #5 conference. But there is a 6 point drop off from #5 to #6 and a 7 point drop to #7. It's nice to be in a Power 5 conference and have all the money....

Apparently beating teams from other conferences makes us look worse because they aren't as good.

ACC beat Mississippi, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Penn State

ACC lost to Tennessee, Northwestern, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Oregon

5 Power 5 wins
5 Power 5 losses

Completely makes sense.

B1G has had more Power 5 wins, and the fewest Power 5 losses.

In the individual Sagarin team rankings, OU and Ole Miss are still top 10, both ahead of Houston. Seems legit.

LMAO yet another hit from the dumbest man in sports journalism. Not a single part of his rankings are based on reality.

That's because of how much of his ratings are still based on last year's results. It will change a lot once only this year's results are used.

Yep. It usually takes about 5 weeks worth of games until Sagarin's ratings are from the current season only.

The other thing people just don't want to understand is that it's not just about how good the best teams in the conference are. It's about how bad the worst teams are too.

It's not just about how many wins your conference has against P5 teams. It's also about how many losses your conference has to mid majors and 1AA opponents.

When Clemson beats Auburn, that's great. When UVA loses to 1AA Richmond that's terrible.

When Ohio state beats Oklahoma and Michigan beats Colorado that's great. When Illinois loses to Western Michigan and Northwestern loses to 1AA Illinois State that's terrible.

I used the ACC and B1G as examples. But the same holds true for every conference. You have to consider not just how much good....but how much shit is also in your conference.....
