I love these picks ups, but until they actually make it on campus and play, I will ton down my excitement just a little bit. I do agree, ND is on fire with recruitment....

That's fair. Notre Dame needs to hang on to these kids before we can truly celebrate. However, it's Summer and nothing's going on, so it's worth getting a little hyped over.

He is only a 3 star but most say he will be a 4 star soon. Some scouts say he is top 3 Slot WR in the country. Its a good pick up for ND. He had offers from Oregon, Arizona, Texas AM.

I think we land good Secondary and LB's but we need to go harder at top Talent on the Dline. We need to produce more sacks and hurries. We were lacking that last year and we lost our best pass rusher. I hope some of the young guys can help us on that.

I hope Daelin Hayes can come in and have a real impact right away. I'm not a big fan of Trumbetti, at least not as Notre Dame's best pass rusher.

I like that he had the Oregon offer. Also, in his interview he mentioned how some guys at Oregon he spoke with weren't really happy there and that's what pushed him to Notre Dame. I think we've seen the last of Oregon as a national power, which is good, their pussy brand Arena football style of play pisses me off.

ND might get some good news. One of ND top targets just de committed from UCLA. 4 star DE Hunter Echols. When he committed ND was #2 on his list. USC is another team in the running here.

Keep an eye on him. He would be a great pick up for ND. They need a DE like him.

God, please let them land him. I'd love to get one at the Jones at WR or the other St. Brown, but anything after Echols would be gravy.

Yeah but usually only after the LOI is signed. So fortunately for any grandparents they should have several months of good health!

Maybe losing Alford and Warriner as recruiters wasn't the issue many of us thought it would be.

GREAT POINT! I can certainly include myself in the group that thought we'd likely see a downturn in recruiting (at least in the immediate future) after losing those two (especially Alford). However, the coaching staff has done an amazing job of taking what looked like a negative situation and turning it into a positive.

The more I think about it, this staff has done a pretty good job of "keeping the wheels on the wagon" through a few tough times (losing Golson the season following the run to the NC game, losing a handful of other starters and/or key contributors due to academic fraud issues, a season in which we lost most of our starting defense and even a few of their replacements to injuries but went on to beat LSU in a bowl game, losing Zaire in game 2 last season and replacing him with a QB with NO experience and losing only a few games, two of which were very close calls, all year to teams that ended up being some of the top teams in the country in the final polls).

As much as BK's in-game decision making, occasional play calling and in-game adjustments that come too late, drive me crazy, he has improved the direction and the standing of the program without a doubt.

No doubt. Whenever Kelly leaves the program will be better than when he got it.

As far as Alford, we lucked out by getting Denson. He had just as many Fla contacts as Alford and is actually a Fla. native.

And Heistand has done an amazing job in replacing Warriner.
