Exactly. The Warriors deserve credit for planning for this and making the moves to make it a reality. They gave Durant an opportunity he couldn't pass up.

But not like you think.

You can never have too many shooters. Durant may start in the mid post some, but he will also be used to stretch the floor even more. Many of his midrange and paint scoring chances will come on drives when teams are forced to guard him with minimal help.

His role will be different with the Warriors though, he had to take over way more offensively for OKC ... I would lay money down Kerr is gonna use him differently... I think Durant is gonna flourish with them..

If he isn't being counted on to score points why sign him?

OH he's gonna score, he just doesn't have to score as much ... He can also help rebounding wise, low post offense wise... OH and defensively the Warriors just improved with Durant..

The Thunder "had" their super team when they had a young nucleus of Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka. But instead they chose not to pay the luxury tax and traded Harden and Ibaka and now Durant is gone.

Had Harden been extended and KD, WB, Harden and Ibaka would have developed together. They would have won a title by now.

They would have had what the Warriors have now. 4 stars that can score, shoot, and play defense.

This one is on the OKC front office and management.

He won't be happy playing 3rd fiddle to Klay & Curry.

I wonder if that Ibaka trade hurt their chances at keeping Durant. Durant said all the right things after the trade, but Ibaka gave GSW a lot of problems.

Not necessarily defensively, since they now will say good bye to Ezeli and Bogut.

You've said this twice now and it's still wrong.

The thing is, the way that offense moves the ball and runs and guns no one is the 'first option', they move it around every possession and whomever has the shot takes it. No hero ball, no 'I need to get my touches'. This is so obvious even a 9 year old like me can see it.

Not to quibble, but one of those 4 cannot play defense.

I think that Ibaka trade reminded Durant that the front office favors cap and longevity over immediate success

Haha true. But if my memory serves me correct, Harden was actually a reliable defender in OKC. I think with the right coaching and motivation he can be a solid defender. Not Kawhi Leonard or Ron Artest by any means but someone who can hold his own.

Score, shoot yes... defense? Harden starts every game with 5 fouls if you haven't realized by now.

At least Yankees fans have been around and made their presence known for ages. Your "beloved" fan base shot out of the ground from nowhere like a fuckin weed. Dont act as if the fanbase is genuine. Before Curry came around the Bay Area didn't know what a basketball was.
Absolute bullshit.

Now some NBA types are complaining that small market teams cannot compete. Well, Clay, you had a large market team in Seattle and left. No free agent wants to live in Hillbilly-Land. OKC will never, ever get lucky in the draft like they did with Durant/Westbrook. That franchise will be irrelevant forever.
