Damnit! I asked this question a few pages ago and it was ignored (I guess, missed is the more accurate term), so I assumed AFL = AFC, since that was the way I worded it. Now, I have to edit my lists, like, a lot. At least a lot more than I wanted to.

So, for instance, if a player played for the Browns from 1960-69, then went to the Redskins for the '70 season before retiring, he would be an NFC guy, right?

And if a guy played one position and switched to a different position before 1970, is he only allowed to be drafted at the position he played AFTER 1970?
