I played baseball for 10+ years. If you don't believe me, eat a dick.
Does one have to eat said dick if one does not believe said dick?

If one wants to eat said dick, but believes said dick, can one still eat said dick?

I'm number 19. That was my sophomore year, and my second to last year playing baseball.

Since 1985 (the first year my high school entered the state tournament), St. Mark's High School of Wilmington, DE has won 14 of the 21 state championships.

So, yeah I got cut my junior year. From the best baseball program in the state. Ask @mannyz if you don't believe me. That does not mean I suck. I was actually pretty damn good. In 2010, I made District All-Star for Newark National Little League, hit 5th in the lineup, and we came in third in the state tournament. The winner that year, Brandywine, made it to Williamsport if I remember correctly

So...there you are! It IS important that you understand HOW the game works physically. I never said you had to be good. But if what you are saying is true, you have some baseball ability...and it seems to be important enough for you to acknowledge it! I was a Little League All Star for two years. I still have those old badges....it was nice that Abner Doubleday himself could present them to us. :)

I only "acknowledged" my ability because you were saying lies about me (someone you've never met). Notice no one on this board posts pictures of them from their playing days to somehow substantiate their knowledge of the game. Because it's irrelevant. But I did play and was good. Here's a picture from 2010 of my team winning the league championship. I'm farthest to the left

Let's put this out on the table. Omar, despite his "story", has probably never played baseball. He is pissed that people who have played the game...at least to some extent....pick on him for being a panzy who only knows baseball statistics.

My suggestion to you Omar...if it bothers you that people who HAVE played the game think they know/understand more about baseball than you...they've already won your argument. Those people know the muscle feel of the game. They know the intuitiveness of the sport. They know the exhilaration, disappoint, and fear of doing something - that you don't and can't know. Bottom line, Omar. Those people know/understand baseball in a very different way, and at a different level, than you do with your statistics. I prefer THEIR way of knowing or understanding

Straight forward, Omar. As an "Older" gentleman, I miss my ability to go out and field a hard hit ground ball, to hit a breaking ball, to react to a pop-fly. Nowhere in my memory do I have a feeling of loss over no longer calculating my wRC+ or my BABIP. (cuz I never did!) Will YOU be able to say the same 30 years from now? Kind of says something about the future of the baseball, huh?
I still laugh at this paragraph

Cameras hard to come by in my day. But here is a photo of my first All Star team. :)

Omar....each of us knew how many runs we had scored and how many hits we had. If someone had asked us about our WAR we'd have asked which side...Blue or Grey. If they asked us about our wRC+, we'd have beaten them to death with our WOODEN bats.

I wouldn't expect 12 year olds to know that shit. I also wouldn't expect 12 year olds to be extremely knowledgable about what is important in measuring value in baseball players.

I think all kids and handicapped people should be escorted out of the stadium before all games. They simply cant appreciate the game.
Convenient of them to all show up wearing orange and black. :suds:

Omar can't wait for a drug to hit the market that increases baseball understanding.

He's got the spread sheet reading portion down just fine.
