Those numbers look a bit off. Bradford has 22 mil guaranteed, and Daniel has 12 mil guaranteed.
That's their minimum if they are cut after 16, in other words the Eagles will have paid 36M for a stopgap. I see how that sounds much better.

Well it is reality. That's all they have invested and it can be a short investment on all but Wentz...

They can choose to invest more but yeah, that number is wrong of what they HAVE invested. But either way, they were able to sign the guys they wanted this off-season so it isn't like they are shipping someone off for salary cap reasons. The owner spent a bit more out of his pocket, but no problem over spending on your options at the QB position especially when it isn't hurting your cap situation long term.

But just making sure you realized that... It's like the Kaepernick contract... Oh my goodness, 115 million or whatever, when no, that isn't even close to reality.

He's as good as Schaub when he was traded to Texas.

Chase Daniels doesn't compare to Schaub. Schaub has had a few good seasons and a couple of playoff appearances under his belt. Chase Daniels couldn't beat out Alex Smith to be the starter and giving him 8 mil up front was indeed mind boggling. Howie brought in someone else's crappy back up and way over paid.

I'd say giving up what they did to move up to grab Wentz ain't the smartest move.

I guess I am always fine if a team doesn't think they have a franchise QB to get a guy they believe can be that.

Not sure what you are talking about with Schaub with good seasons and playoff wins. When he got that big deal, he was 0-2 in his two starts with a 69 QB rating completing 52% of his passes. Chase couldn't beat out Alex? Schaub couldn't get a completion percentage close to Vick. He got a 48 million dollar contract (and the Texans gave up two 2nd round picks). So that is just made up there what you are saying.

Kinda closer to Whitehurst than anything, with the exception that Pederson kinda brought in himself from 15 or so years ago. A backup who's been with the system. I'm fine with a couple mil over market value to other teams with that when talking about doing the most for the success of your 2nd overall pick potential franchise QB..

They paid him high backup money, but again I really don't care if Jeffrey Lurie is worth 1.142 billion or 1.145 billion. It didn't hurt the offseason signings, Philly was able to get their re-signings done, Philly still has 10 mil in cap space... I guess I am a bit less concerned with Lurie's wallet than others.

I'm talking about his entire career, not just his two game stint in Baltimore. He compared Daniels to Schaub and I pointed out that's a bad comparison.

He compared Daniels to Schaub "when he was traded to Texas." You are comparing him to Schaub today. If you want to create your own comparison based on today, fine, but his was based on when the move was made.

Yes, that is really similar when you actually read what he said. He didn't have all the success he had in Texas before he was traded to Texas, no time warping.

At the time that was a HUGE contract for a player with next to no experience but who coaching staffs loved.

the spin put on Daniels is comical.
I'll just say...I hope he gets to play in philly

What is the spin? QB who a lot of coaches seem to like and say is really smart, who knows the system. Maybe he becomes a decent starter, maybe not, who cares, it's not like he's the expected future of that team now. He's there to be like what Doug Pederson was for McNabb. I hope he doesn't play. I'd much rather see him helping Wentz in camp and on the sidelines.
