Maybe they only poop out a bit of ash. Everything else burns up inside them.

You don't know. When was the last time you saw any dragon shit?
You got me there. Wait let me go out back and see if Puff has done anything.

It is a crisis of faith, but her necklace and more precisely the ruby within it is the source for her glamour. The show butchered continuity from her bathtub scene with Selyse where she didn't have the necklace on, or we're supposed to believe that Selyse at that point was such a believer she saw what she wanted to see despite the necklace not being worn. The show has done poorly in terms of making it understandable for non-book readers in that when Mel's faith is strong she needs no food for sustenance, nor sleep for energy replenishment... nor is she ever cold. This scene highlights that crisis of faith in a very subtle way as well as having Mel take a literal good look at herself in the mirror.

Even her ritual in episode two shows her lingering crisis, she does the ritual on Jon but you can see she has some doubt. She even says 'please' during the ritual, appealing to the Lord of Light, she has just a faint hope that it'll work, so imagine what that might do for her regaining some confidence, which she hasn't ever had a problem with until the present events.
Many fans believe Selyse saw her for what she is in that scene. It was only the camera (us) that still saw her still young. Since Selyse was deeply within the faith it was said there was no need to disguise in front of her. Selyse was the one that brought her to Stanis. It's at least plausible that she knew of her true form and age.

That wouldn't be a minor gaff if they omitted the necklace in that earlier scene on accident.

There have been quite a few things they didn't explain in the series that might make more sense reading the books. That's part of the problem with screen productions. You just don't have the time to entirely explain every little nuance.

Maybe the shows producers will answer this question since it has blown up on social media after that first episode this season.

As for dragon poop, when they are chained up down there they aren't eating. Tyrion said he once saw what happens when they are chained up for long periods of time. I believe he said they were the size of cats?

In any event, if these creatures can live for long periods of time without eating it stands to reason they wouldn't poop while starving.

I assumed that was after generations of breeding domesticated dragons since they were likely only used for battle and stored away during "peace time" and a dragon the size of a cat likely didn't produce eggs as big as what Daenerys received. I could be wrong though.

Didn't think about the Roose thing that way but I definitely can see where you're coming from. What goes around comes around eventually. Just like I think sooner or later, Ramsay will have his comeuppance and either Theon or Sansa will get to do the honors.

I think it will be Ghost, possibly at Sansa's command if she is to spend some time and get reacquainted to him. It could be one of the other direwolves too or perhaps several of them. Sansa's direwolf is dead but she could get close enough to some of the others for them to obey her command. Or she could simply lure Ramsay to an area where one or more direwolves can tear him to shreds.

Where are all the wolves?

Rickon's is presumably still with Rickon.
Bran's is north with Bran? We did not see it this past week.
Ghost is still with Jon.
Robbs was killed at Red Wedding.
Sansa's was killed by Joefrey.
Arya's was "released". No clue what happened to him.

Arya's is in the Riverlands somewhere. In the books, it's speculated (through Arya's Wolf-dreams and the comments from people in the Riverlands) that Nymeria is now the leader of a massive pack of wolves terrorizing the area. In the show, we have not seen her or heard any mention since episode 2 or 3 of season 1. Since they have not explored Arya's Wolf-dreams yet, I doubt they will bring Nym back.

Finally got to watch the episode. Glad they brought Jon back. The story would have suffered far to much had he not come back.

Lots of action in this episode. My guess is this season will be very action packed in general.

Yeah. They needed to bring him back. Even better would have been if they didn't screw up and kill him off though. That was silliness because they had no choice but to bring him back. It was cheap and gay.

Killing Snow was silliness.

First, it was formulaic. Kill the Starks. Throw a curve ball every time the good guys get in position to get their revenge. First time you do it, it's shocking. Second time, OMG he did it again! Third time... this again, really?

Second, it was also problematic with this particular character. There was too much mythology invested in the character to end it there. The story as told wasn’t going to advance properly. I get going against redundant literary narratives because they are formula driven. And GRRM did well to move away from that and it’s one of the things that make him great. Killing that sacred cow was needed and nobody did it better. But when you start putting that mantra over the story you will lose it. Or at least some of it.

Third, you put yourself in a bad situation either way after doing that. You either leave the character dead (which attacks the foundation of your story and becomes redundant) or you do something that flies in the face of everything you’ve worked so hard to build; the sense that nobody is safe.

If you don’t fake-kill Snow, you leave your readers/viewers with the impression that you “might”. Something we were robbed of now. Thrones, after this, is a little less brutal, a little less real, and a little less interesting.

It’s still a fantastic story and a fantastic show. It’s probably my all-time favorite story and it’s definitely one of my all-time favorite shows. That doesn’t mean that Martin didn’t miss-step there. It just means that he isn’t perfect.

Is Snow going to be himself 100% or will he be more like Beric Dondarrion who although repeatedly back from the dead, is a shadow of his former self?

Good question. Beric was revived a whole lot though wasn't he? I can't remember. it might be something like the number of times you do it has negative effects.

He started to lose memories.

I never thought he was getting up after Clegane cleaved him....

So it's still awesome, but you think he's gone to the ressurection well one too many times. Fair enough.

However, it gets Jon out of his vows to the Night's Watch.

We'll see where it goes.

Yup. I think it's a bit too soon to judge this part of the story because we are still just speculating where we are going to go from here as we are past the books as it relates to John's story.

I agree that if he comes back and everything is the same as it would be had he never died then this would be a cheap shock (X2). But that really doesn't appear to be the case at all. It looks to me like the story most certainly is advancing as a result of this.

Melissandre and Davos finally seem to be on the same page under John when they never saw eye to eye under Stannis. We saw Melissandre show her lack of faith for the first time while we saw Davos' faith in the Lord of Light for the first time.

The night's watch gets divided. The mutineers are exposed and imprisoned and the wildlings have returned to the Wall as allies to the loyalists.

Jon dies and is likely now released from his vows in a way that nobody likely figured possible when they first read the first book or watched the first season. And who knows in what ways he might have changed or how this might tie into one or more of the many prophecies?
