The first time during the regular season where him and Steve Smith are both clamoring for the ball and Flacco throws it to Smith instead of Wallace. Wallace will pout the rest of the game and season!!!

Sounds about right to me

Just another WR that the CB's in the rest of the division won't have to worry about covering ;)

Not a huge Wallace fan, but I would rely on him over Perriman. Speed is great, but Perriman led the NCAA in drops his last year. The guy plays like he's got 3 fingers on each hand. Can't teach that speed, though, if he's healthy.

The whole throwing Teddy under the bus is pretty lame

Teddy does a lot of things you like out of a young QB. But throwing a deep ball is not one of them.

He literally completed two passes that traveled over 30 yards or deeper all of last season .....and one of those was a wide open Diggs who had to make an amazing diving catch to make it count and the other one was one where Charles Johnson had to go high point and take away from a deep safety.

Trust me....I will be the first one on here crowing about how good Teddy is if he ever finds the deep ball. But until then I am just telling you like it is.

Understandable but to come out in public and basically call Teddy a bad QB is a bad look.

Yeah...but saying I need a "good QB" told me where he was coming from. He could've said I'm happy to go to team that like to throw deep more as that's my game...but he chose to respond to the critics and make make it a QB problem...not a MW problem.

I thought you comment was aimed at me not Wallace. I just read what Wallace said. Yeah not a good way to go out but again...but he ain't really lying.

He didn't say Bridge was a bad qb, he was saying that he wanted to be in a system where he fit, one where the qb could help him do what he does best, get downfield and have the ball thrown to him...
Not all qb's shine at throwing the deep ball accurately, doesn't mean they are bad qb's, that's just not their strong point...
Joe happens to be very good at that, and that is what he was referring to the way I understood it....
I mean, for real, Bridge or Tanny compared to Joe is a no brainer, and there are qb's better than Joe over all....

Would seem to be appropriate for the recent drafting(s) at WR for the club, though. No?

In all seriousness, it's not a bad signing. Lots of questions at WR, and this brings a veteran element into the mix. Smith is coming off injury and of course his age could be a factor at any moment (you never know).

You just don't know what Perriman brings yet, and one of the big knocks on him coming out was his hands. I got to watch a few of his games being from Cincinnati and in the same conference as UC. Saw more than a few plays where his speed had him wide open by 5-10 yards, only to drop the pass.

I wasn't crazy about the wallace signing but I'm in the wait and see what he can do for us mode now...I was referring to the perriman remark that he couldn't be taught, everything but heart can be taught to an extent and catching the ball is very teachable....Granted there has to be an amount of talent inbreed but technics and fundamentals are what separates the great from the mediocre....
I think he is a good prospect but as any rook, they have to be thrown in the fire to see if they can handle the heat of the NFL games...
Like Ray always said; it's a man's game !!!!

Well, he did insinuate that by saying I need a "good QB".

I can understand him being frustrated in an OFC that doesn't throw deep much, but his choice of words does make you feel like he's responding to the critics and put the QB out front. We do know this much...Joe will go deep, so he will have a chance at getting "the last laugh".

MW..regardless of what the critics say, you're still getting paid well...just shut up and prove them wrong...if you can.

Agreed.

The can't be taught was directed towards his speed. It's something you have or don't have. He definitely has it. He can, hopefully, be taught to catch better, focus more, etc... That's something that can be worked on. The elite kind of speed he has is something you either have it or you don't. You can work on being faster, but you're not going to go from marginal to elite speed no matter how hard you work.

If Wallace can be taught to catch better than why hasn't he learned it after 7+ years in the league? He improved from his rookie year but hit a ceiling in Pittsburgh and I kept waiting for Wallace to push thru that ceiling. He never did and the Steelers chose Antonio Brown over him and time has shown how wise that move was. The Steeler FO saw both WRs in practice everyday and let Wallace walk in FA. I think that says it all about Wallace improving at this stage of his career. If he's wide open on a deep/post route, he'll catch the ball most times. Any other route and he'll drop it a lot of times, if he even gets open in the first place.

Wallace throwing his QBs under the bus instead of saying I need to get better and look forward to the opportunity to improve my game in Baltimore says all you need to know about Wallace's work ethic.

That whole segment was on Perriman. Not Wallace.

My statements about Wallace are still true.

Perriman had speed. We have no idea what affect that season long upper leg injury had on his speed, if any.

Givens has now signed with the Eagles. Makes the Wallace signing make a little more sense I guess.

Agreed, and listening to him talk it's pretty clear he failed every English class from grade school to college...
But we don't care if he uses sign language as long as he gets the job done he was hired for....
Sign language may actually be an improvement over what I heard...
