Still a little butt-hurt UNC and Virginia didn't cover the over last night.

I believe that it's 5:30pm EST on CBS

I'm hoping and praying the MSU/PURDUE game (3:00pm EST/CBS) goes into umpteen overtimes (at LEAST 30 minutes) just to delay the Selection Show...lol...imagine the howling.

First 4 OUT: Syracuse, Michigan, South Carolina, Vanderbilt
Next 4 OUT: Valparaiso, Akron, Georgia, Florida

* Contingency - If Memphis wins the AAC Tournament, they are in the field as a 15 seed. As a by product of that; Monmouth would be OUT, and Wichita State would be slotted into the play-in games in Dayton against Saint Mary's.

Having looked at all the teams, I'm fairly confident about Temple getting selected. The committee has NEVER left out the outright winner of a top 8 conference(AAC is 8th). That line of thinking is why I think San Diego and Saint Mary's will get selected. Even though the Mountain West and WCC are ranked 12th and 14th respectively.

I saw that, and they were the last of the 4 teams listed. Had a chance to take care of business, but Fresno State came through late while the Aztecs took bad shots and missed tying ft's. I was already rooting for UConn, hopefully they'll finish off this wild tourney run.

Lunardi most recent bracket has them as the 2nd to last team in. He added St. Mary's to his field and removed Monmouth

When it comes to last 4 in and first four out, You and Lunardi disagree on Monmouth and Michigan

Best 2 resumes are Kansas and UVA. After that I'm guessing it's going to be UNC ( even though they don't have a 1 seed resume )

I am not sure how you could say UVA is a 1 and then have to assume it's UNC, after UNC won both the conference and the tourney, and just beat UVA head to head. Resume means nothing for UNC. They're a 1.

KU, MSU (assuming a win today), UNC, UVA. Personally, I don't think Oregon deserves a 1, and it's going to be a lot tougher for them to pull a 1 considering they'd be going up against blueblood names.

Honestly, have no clue in regards to Monmouth/Syracuse/Michigan. Think it comes down to one spot for those 3 teams. If Syracuse does make the field, with an RPI of 68, that would be the 3rd worst team to make it since 1994, and the lowest rated RPI team of the last decade.

UVA has superior results to UNC. That said they're UNC so they'll probably get a 1. Oregon has a great resume ( vastly superior to UNC ) but it'll probably still come down to them or MSU and even though Oregon resume is slightly better I'd still imagine they're the 2 unless MSU loses. That's why I think it's a lock they are in the same region. Nova us going to be in the East as a 2 I think. That leaves MSU and Oregon as 1/2 out West. If the committee locks that in early then it's super easy to swap their places if MSU happens to lose late today

Just hypothesizing. Imo they're the last 2 candidates for c the 4th number 1 s o vb it'd make sense to have them in the same region because the B10 title game is so late that if you need to switch them in case MSU lost today. Either way they'd be the 1 and 2 in the same region

please hep me here: why Oregon be so feeking low on this scale?

SWEEEETTTTttt! A 9 seed and a west regional.

That'll only help if Oregon State makes the S16. 1st and 2nd round games for them would be in Raleigh, based on this bracket.

I can't see the committee letting Saint Mary's in. Can you imagine if they set that precedent and start letting some of the big boys play all home games and/or in state away games for the entire ooc schedule. Monmouth gets in for the b opposite reason. Their RPI and whatever number wise stuff may not be as good, but they played SO MANY away and neutral site games. Gotta let them in.

Teamrankings is MUCH more in depth than any other site. They use about 200 different data sets to get to their rankibgs. I wish the committee used them but with the limited data they use Oregon looks better. I personally think the Ducks are a S16 team. I use this site so much for my brackets. Best info in the business

10 years ago Billy Packer made a complete jackass outta himself on national tv when he said over & over that George Mason had no business in The Tourney. All they did in '06 was make it all the way to the Final Four.

I think they discussed this a couple years ago. If I remember right the regular season officially ends at 5:30 pm. If they go into overtime the selection committee just ignores the game or counts it as a tie or something. Maybe it was if the whole tournament hasn't ended, the whole tournament gets thrown out (so Indiana would get the automatic bid, not that it actually matters in this cse). Essentially they don't give a shit that the B1G tries to hog the spotlight by waiting until the last second. But they're not going to go out of their way to accommodate the B1G either.

It would be more interesting on the Networks part though. Do they cut away from the game to show the bracket announcements?

I sure hope he's right, even if they have to play a 1st four game.

I think there's no doubt they're playing a 1st four game if they make it.

Yeah, doesn't matter to me at this point I'll just be happy they made it. I'd like to see them play one of those non power conf. teams who are fighting for a spot like St. Marys or Monmouth.
