Getting Kevin Love is not going to help....They made the finals without love

Love is not really a superstar imo....nobody fears kevin love, or does any tpye of game planning for kevin love...Sure put him on an orlando or a minn and he will get you 25 pts 10 rebounds shooting 41% and they will never see the playoffs...mello at least makes the playoffs as the best player on his team and is a true star

Why would the Cavs want Melo? He's not a PF and LeBron is there. The only reason I can think of is wanting to be able to play small against a team like GSW with Melo at the 4 and TT at the 5, but that won't make them better than the Warriors. I don't blame the Knicks wanting to move Melo though.

its interesting....i think your right that it would make us better tomorrow.....but i dunno....i dont know if our ceiling would be as high as if they can finally integrate Love and make it all work....I would think the Cavs would get more than just Melo as well.....

its fun to talk about but its def not something i would think has even a remote chance of happening..

lol..it would be funny to see LeBron, Melo and Irving- like 3 of the top 6-7 ISO guys in the NBA try and figure out how to share the ball.

It wouldn't work. They'd be the Anaheim Angels of the NBA

lol.....at least you only need 5 guys in basketball......yah not happening- it would be a big mismatch of talent and just not make a lot of sense in my mind...but like i siad- im sure they would get more than just melo so id have to see the whole deal- but its all for nothing anyway since it aint happening....they arent gonna trade Love. Hes 27 and under contract for 4 more years...theres incredible value there.

Only thing the Cavs should worry about today, is being better tomorrow.
I'm not saying Anthony is the answer, like you said, you would need to see the complete deal, but your obsession with Love is misguided IMO.

Melo would have to waive his no-trade clause which he isn't going to do.

How many times has @WiggyRuss says that to contend you need to have superstars/star power?
Who are the stars/superstars on the Celts?

I agree with Wiggy here.

What does Melo bring to the table? He would be a redundant piece, and like others have said, Love fits better with what the Cavs need.

As for the Celtics, they are not contenders now, and are unlikely to be any time soon. Love might help them be the second or third best team in the east, but he would not get them over the hump. I think they are better off entering the Ben Simmons sweepstakes.

I like what the Knicks are thinking here, and there is no way in hell Melo would refuse to waive his no trade clause for the chance to play with LeBron. Those two are just as tight as LeBron and Wade.

I don't see this working. According to what I've read, part of what Lue is trying to do is get the Cavs to move the ball and have more offensive flow. 'Melo is a ballstopper/iso guy. He will kill any chance the Cavs have at running the kind of offense Lue is trying to get them to run.

Boston has the foundation and the assets. Boston isnt contending this year---- but next year or after? DEFINITELY

they are going to have a top 5 pick in the draft from the Nets, have their own pick, AND a Dallas 1st rounder- and thats just this year--- plus plenty of decent players to deal if they wanted to.

its only a matter of time before they pull off a trade for a start that is on the market or sign one in free agency with their cap space as well. Boston really set itself up with that New Jersey trade- they will be reaping windfalls from that for YEARS

Because they want Love to hover behind the 3pts line and stretch the floor.

He can do it in spurts. But, that isn't his game.

Melo would be ecstatic to fill that role.

1. Kevin Love's 3pt shooting is better than Melo's, this year and for their careers(on more attempts).
2. Melo isn't just a standstill 3pt shooter either, he likes to attack the basket and shoot mid range shots.
3. Who wouldn't be ecstatic to go from being on a shitty team to being asked to shoot 3's on a team that is probably going to the finals?

And that's the part that would hurt the Cavs. He likes to stop the ball and go iso. A few years back, when D'Antoni was coaching the Knicks, Lin was playing point and 'Melo was out injured, the Knicks were winning some games and were fun to watch. As soon as 'Melo came back, their offense came to a screeching halt because 'Melo wanted his iso's.

If Melo does waive his no trade clause, which is pretty doubtful..(but who knows, maybe Phil & melo's agent convinces him to do it)...the Knicks would much rather trade him to a western conference team...ie: Rockets, Lakers,Blazers or possibly Grizzlies.

Knicks don't care where he goes... They are not winning anytime soon either way. If they deal Melo for picks + contracts, they are not contenders for at least 2 more years.
