A guy I work with thinks Carolina is going to crumble after this. I don't think so. I think the team will bounce back from all this drama and contend again next year.

Cam is immature but we all knew that (most of us). You still gotta stop him. Denver was uniquely equipped to humble his ass.

Their schedule is a lot more difficult next year. They have to play the AFC West and NFC West instead of the AFC South and NFC East. That means, besides seeing Denver again, they'll also get the Chiefs, the Seahawks, the Cardinals, and the Rams, plus the NFC South should be better next season. I think they'll come back down to earth.

To be honest, not many storylines you can pull from the game. Peyton getting his 2nd, Elway cemented as a great GM, Broncos' pass rush making the statement that they are the best in the league, the entire Panthers team just coming out completely flat, and couldn't recover. So the media is reaching for other things. And of course, Cam is a star, and everything he does is going to get evaluated.

Not to an extreme. Their offense should spread the field at times to take advantage of Cam's abilities, but when you play against a great pass rush like that, you have to adjust. Which they didn't. The Panthers lined up in spread pretty much the entire game, which is why they lost. I do agree though that they need another WR and some depth in the secondary.

Carolina has a good defense, but their offense was completely dismantled, much like Denver's was. That's why Elway rebuilt the team with a different philosophy, and it worked.

Yep. Other factors will also be at play like everyone gunning for them & possibly having worse luck in the injury dept.
