I would take Upton on a 6 yr deal backloaded before I gave 5 years to Cespedes... and I loved having Cespedes.

He wants to many years and to much money. I think the market dried up for 100+ mil contracts.
I agree. I'm wondering why he and his agent don't jump on something. Seems like the market will dry up more as time goes on and teams get more comfortable with what they have.

I don't see how they can't be thinking the same thing you are right now.

It would interesting to see how many offers he may have right now and what/who they are.

His agent claims they are talking to 7 teams...
Dayum! I could believe that though. Helluva player. Now that Parra has supposedly signed, maybe the "dominoes" will start to fall... probably not.

I just read a short article on his free agency yesterday and this was the pic at the top. LOL, kinda mean.

CBS reporting Parra has signed with the Rockies, 3 years/$27.5 mill. A couple came off the board today, so you might see a run on the remaining big names. For Cespedes, it depends on how much of a gap there is between his agent and reality.

They are reporting that the Tigers are now targeting OFers from the Rockies in a trade.

Cargo?

Hope not.

Agreed. He was surprisingly healthy last season. But prior to that: 70 games, 110 games, 135 games, 127 games ... ugh. The Tigers already have enough injury risks on their roster.

I think a lot of Rockies players tend to get injured.. not saying if they leave there it will change.. but it has to be something with playing in altitude... because there is a long list of players there that can't stay healthy over the years.

The Royals have agreed to terms with Ian Kennedy on a five-year, $70MM deal

I would love to hear from a Royals fan how they feel about this.. because Ian Kennedy is hot fucking garbage and your team just locked him up for $14 mil a yr for the next 5 years. Just an FYI.. he is 31... so you are going to have him around until he is 36 years old. The suck is only going to grow.

Last 3 yrs ERA/Whip 4.28/1.30 (2015) 3.63/1.29 (2014) 4.91/1.40 (2013)
He is now the highest paid pitcher in Royals history. Wrap your mind around that. Its like Dayton Moore got some money to spend in his pocket and it was burning a hole in it so he had to get rid of it or something.

To get an idea how much of a pile of shit Kennedy is...

Mike Pelfrey 2015 ERA 4.26 / 11 HR Given Up 164 innings
Ian Kennedy 2015 ERA 4.28 / 31 HR Given up 168 innings

Setting your self up for long term success doesn't equal giving #5 starters 70 mil deals.
