The biggest cheating scandal to hit the NFL in years seems to have totally faded into oblivion. Why doesn't anyone want to talk about it anymore?

My guess is that there is not much to talk about until the NFL wins their appeal

Because the season started and deflate gate was the only thing going on in the offseason. Oh yeah and no patriot fans are creating threads about it...err.

I happen to think that the Patriots have proven that requiring them to play with regulation psi has had absolutely zero effect upon their play. Now, before your auto-argue hater program kicks in, consider the following question.

If the Patriots lost the Superbowl and had a losing record right now, would the media be so uninterested in peddling the story?

Of course not. Thank you.

Come November 2016 we won't be hearing a peep about New England's 1st round pick either.

First off, it's not the biggest cheat scandal to hit the NFL. That was back in 1987 during the Reagan incident involving the Seahawks, Jets, and Packers involving spiked Gatorade and bra free cheerleaders. This escalated in 1989 and while Bush took over the administration the NFL secretly started sneaking Smores schnapps into the drinking water for the Cowboys. This ultimately lead to their dominance in the 90s. Jimmy Johnson knew of this but did nothing and Deion Sanders laughed his way to the top while Aikman suffered an alcoholic aneurysm in 1996 which led to his current comatose state.

Second, the Pats so called deflategate was a cover up for the true cheaters of the season, which was the Cleveland Browns. The Browns tried to bring in numerous 1st round picks and decent players but they all bombed. Why you ask? Simple... Cleveland has been working on a new underground drug that is meant to make everyone suck at everything, and the Browns players and LeBron James are targets. Why do this you ask!? Because Cleveland is getting paid millions from neighboring states because nobody cares about Cleveland.

Deflategate. Take off the blinders you morons. Let's start focusing on the real issues.

It was a non-issue when it happened and even more of one now.

Non issue? Maybe but it sure wasn't a non story.

It's a non story now.

I mean what is there to talk about that hasn't already had 100 threads on this board? Until anything happens with the courts not much can be talked about with the issue.

Throw in as we have seen with the off season even the smallest of stories can get blown up because there is very little to talk about beyond the draft, combine, and FA that actually has anything to do with football. I think now that the season is a full go there is much more that is happening on the field to talk about.

I would also add I would bet some of it is because of Rock Strongo. We already have 10-15 Patriot threads a day on the General Board. No need to add even more. I think people just got completely burned out on the subject with just how much either side had to emphasize their points.

What a great idea for a thread. By all means let's continue to talk about it for the next 8 months. That would be swell.

So you're postulating that it has simply run its course and nothing more. I can't recall any "smallest of stories" that got blown up to the level of Deflategate news coverage on every fucking channel simply because it was the off season.

Please give me a straight forward answer to the question I posed in post #8. If the Patriots lost the Superbowl and had a losing record right now, would the media be so uninterested in peddling the story? You can't possibly answer that it would be the non story that it is today. I'm not talking just the Hoop. Sports media has virtually dropped anything to do with it.

It simply pains to admit that it's the Patriots and Tom Brady himself who have quieted the coverage.

The thread is asking why we stopped talking about it Darrell. Would we have stopped if the Patriots were struggling?

Just admit that we would still be throwing up threads and posts about it if that was the case and I'll drop it.
