Yeah, that's one of the greatest plays in CFB history.
Exactly!!! The flag should have been picked up "before" the review, not "after" the review!!So, let me get this straight...
They threw a flag for a block in the back, reviewed the play to see if the player was down or if the laterals were forward, and then after the review announced that a) the player wasn't down and b) the laterals were all laterals and c) the officials got together and determined it was a legal block?
And...I'm just supposed to believe that the decision to change that had nothing to do with the review? They changed that call and determined it was from the side after the review. Shouldn't those decisions be made before reviews?
...because the officials wanted it to be.
I think it's because John Swofford is a Carolina guy and everyone knows the Miami win really helps UNCs odds. Let's not play dumb with these conspiracy theories. It's not like Duke marched right down the field on penalties on the drive before their score or anything. Calls went Miami's way all night. Did I do that right?
Duke was screwed like 3 times on the same play by the officials
That play was 100% clean and 100% awesome. Those kids deserved that win after the week they had.I think DUKE just fooked by the officials. There was about 3 blocks in the back on that play. ACC officiating has been absolute SHIT today.
I thought the same thing but the ref does have the option of waving it off or being over ruled on the field. The reviewing refs just can't review on that point.Damn good point. A flag was thrown. That is not reviewable.
That play was 100% clean and 100% awesome. Those kids deserved that win after the week they had.
On this, I totally agree. But for serious, fuck Swofford, fuck UNC, and fuck ACC cronyism
No the play stands because no penalty was committed, the kids deserving it is just karma. That's how we're deciding games now?
