Matthews is better than McCoy, and Murray…lol. Djax was a punk and he's shown it even more as a Redskin, same with LeSean. Maclin was a really good player who progressed greatly his last year with us -- he was also a team first guy and a great kid. Mistake not to pay him.

Looks like DJax is turning into a real family man.

Awesome. Good for him. Maybe in 20 years we'll finally have a deep threat with great hands again. Sure would be nice to have a deep threat with great hands now.

DJAX has missed 8 of 23 games as a Redskin. While I would love to have his production, a 170 lb guy is fairly predictable to have those sort of issues as they get older.

And people forget that Maclin was a FA at the time and never was going to sign with the Eagles if he had to play second fiddle to DJAX. They hated each other and Maclin needed the targets to get his big contract. Maclin was a better (and cheaper) alternative.

Now I am on record as saying they should have overpaid for Maclin. The delta between what he got paid and what the Eagles offered was roughly Miles Austin. However, people act like it was that simple just to match the KC deal. Maybe the Missouri born Maclin simply liked Andy Reid and Kansas more than Kelly and Philly?

DJax is a CORE Redskin. Once he recovers from his broken hamstring he will once again light the league on fire.

You made that up before. And now you are just repeating yourself.

He does seem like a classic Danny Snyder Redskin of the past 15 years in many ways.

As early as 2013 when Maclin tore his ACL people speculated that they were more excited about Maclin than DJAX.

Philadelphia Forced to Rely on the Unreliable DeSean Jackson

People were speculating in January of 2014 that they would not be able to keep DJAX happy and sign Maclin and Cooper. DJAX reportedly expected a raise.

Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: DeSean Jackson Contract Means Losing Riley Cooper or Jeremy Maclin?

Maclin was signed less than a month before cutting DJAX. As was Cooper.

And the Eagles reportedly started shopping DJAX the day they signed Maclin...

DeSean Jackson departure was set once Philadelphia Eagles brought back Jeremy Maclin

So where's it say "they hated each other?"

Actually DJax was one of the best players on the Skins last year, he had a very good first year which was predictable. He then blew off OTA, got hurt, and is now out of favor and probably not in their plans for next year. Again very predictable.

And how do you know this? Or is this just another in the long list of things you pull out of your ass.

Not really defending DPD but I think there is some truth to what he is saying. I remember reading before the Djax trade how players did not like him. The same was said about McCoy as well. I also read that Reid had to have several conversations with Djax about his behavior and the things he did.

Did they hate him? I don't know....those are pretty strong words but I do remember hearing about "issues" within the locker room.

You can't just get rid of them and not replace their production on the field. Now the offense sucks.

and with all of that said I think the guaranteed money the Chiefs offered was way too high for Maclin. He even admitted that the guaranteed money was too much to say no to.

They were in a tough spot for sure. Is anyone really doubting that Jackson was a problem? And Maclin was overpaid, that is equally obvious. So either you keep a problem child, overpay a WR, or end up here. FA WRs just aren't that good and if they are they are Antoine Boldin, Steve Smith old.

Yup...I agree.

I personally think Djax is a great talent but very immature which was suprising to me. When he was drafted he seemed to be the high character person that Reid normally went after. He went to one of the best schools in the country but I will not pretend to know how well he did in school and he did leave early.

I do not hear a lot about Djax so he could very well be changing (or growing up). Sometimes something unexpected happening to you can change your perspective in life.
