Another year... Another AC game. This one looks like it has more potential than Unity did. I wasn't very impressed with Unity. Regardless, I'm still addicted to this franchise!
Are you talking about the Desmond storyline? He died so that of course ended. They do have "modern times storyline" but now you (the player) are the protagonist.Have they gotten back to the story they were telling up until AC 3 (the modern times storyline)? I checked out after the constant bait and switching and I've read some of their recent games just abandoned the modern stuff altogether.

The last few games you are a worker at Abstergo. And in the last game (Unity) the assassin's recruit you.
Yea they didn't continue it. I was bummed because I liked the sideplay missions. They downgraded all that to simple informational quests. Basically you walk around the work building and hack into shit. You gather all sorts of evidence of Abstergo's work. Pretty boring, but the last one had a few good moments. Seems like they are building back up to a better modern day storyline. Don't even bother with Black Flag's modern day storyline. It was boring as shit.Yeah, the Desmond stuff. I know he died but they still left it open like there was more to it

Yep that's what it seems like. I loved the first 3-4 games that had those puzzles and conspiracies like you said.Bummer. That's what I feared and why I dropped out. The historical stuff was cool but I really liked the puzzle solving that led to the modern day conspiracy stuff. It's a shame they cut it out to essentially streamline the game into a Call of Duty (same gameplay, minimal story) that gets released every year
Have you played it? The commericials have me pumped, might have to download itAssassin's Creed Syndicate: The Kotaku Review
Kotaku is saying its the best installment in awhile. They're usually pretty good with their assessments on if a game is worth playing or not. I might pick this up once it goes on sale around the holidays if the comments from players are good.
I did... It was ok but I didn't care for it. Pretty uneventful storyline with bits and pieces of fun. I hated the co-op crap. Every person I tried to play with just went screaming into the joint guns-a-blazin and didn't try to use any sort of strategy. Annoyed the shit out of me so I played everything by myself which was ridiculously hard. Majority of the co-op missions required you to have help, so doing them alone was a death sentence unless you got lucky. The fighting was a lot more difficult as well. If you got into a fight against more than 6-8 people you would have 4-5 of them shooting at you while you tried to defend yourself. Basically it made it impossible to confront more than 4-5 guards at once. And they got rid of the "human shield" defensive move so you had no way of stopping someone from shooting at you unless you lunged at them. The storyline climax was pretty dull. I thought the grand finale fight would have been more epic than it was. After chasing the dude around for a half hour wounding him you fight in a cave like room where he shoots beams at you. I killed him in 30 seconds after entering that room lol.Did anyone play Unity after it was patched? If so what did you think? I have it but haven't started it and I am debating whether to play it or skip it.

Ive only played 1, Brotherhood and 3. Never been fully sure as to what the selling point of buying a new Creed every year was. Brotherhood had some really good ideas but the overall execution was just okay. I'm a big Dumas fan and this stuff should be pretty easy to make so I'll keep my eye out on this one.
