So we had this kid Malik Monk move in here from down near Memphis two years ago to finish up school here. Will be a Sr. this year. First time I saw him at 6'3" I said "really?" because I heard he was good. This kid is not just good, he is NBA material after 1 year based on most scouts. Never seen someone with so much God given talent. You could practice all day and never get this good. He has offers from everyone, but it will likely be a home cooking with Arkansas (his brother played football there and works for the Wings now) or more than likely Kentucky (he is going to Big Blue Madness there in Oct).

If you haven't seen this kids highlights.. watch them. Unreal quickness, crazy hops, unreal crossover, best transition guard in highschool, and can stroke shots from NBA three range like they are nothing. Scores 40+ against the best in the nation and wins most dunk contest he participates in at the big camps.

Never seen someone 6'3" with so much bounce and most of these highlights are from his Soph and Jr. year. Can't wait to watch him live this year before he leaves.

Yeah it was funny last year. They played Jason Tatum's team Chaminade out of St. Louis (the #1 kid in the class who is going to Duke). There were all these seats in front of us reserved and fans were pissed... the place was packed for the 1st game. By the 2nd game, in walk Bill Self, Roy Williams, Fred Hoiberg, Billy Donovan, and Mike Anderson. People formed a line to talk to Mike Anderson obviously... then in walk Calipari and Kenny Payne and literally everyone runs from Mike Anderson to get in line to take selfies with Calipari. He was a good sport about it and literally during every break the line would form. But I thought it ironic that the hometown Hog fans bailed on their coach the moment Cal walked in. Was hilarious...

And Mike wants this kid bad. Literally any game where the Hogs don't have a game or travel, he has the entire basketball team show up (even on the road games) and watch Malik. I hope Kentucky gets him... would be a waste to play at Arkansas. However, he is low income, and mom got a job up here working around the Walmart business so I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see him land at Arkansas because of those "relationships" which I am sure have great financial value. Remember the movie Blue Chips with Nolte... "daddy needs a new tractor!" His brother was a tight end for the Hogs, and his cousin played ball there last year. Lots of family connections. I feel a Cam Newton personally.. but I am rooting for UK to get him if we can't (and when Donovan left, our recruiting had no chance).

So with the recruits LSU has coming in ... I am thinking they may be the #2 team in the SEC behind Kentucky for a few years. They were already getting stronger and stronger the last couple of years, but now have Ben Simons who is the best player in last year's class and another top 10 coming in. Pretty sick recruiting... they are going to be scary.

If both of the Tigers star forwards hadn't left early, I had them preseason #1. They are still gonna be really good, I'd have them or Vandy as SEC #2. As to Monk, I'd put him 60-40 to UK. In a different landscape, he'd be Arkansas all day, but when you are getting 6-7 kids drafted a year, kids will follow the money

I'm excited about the way the SEC has recruited for 2015 and into the future. Texas A&M and LSU both have highly regarded classes coming into this season. Auburn has laid a foundation in the 2015 class and looks really good already in 2016. Mississippi State signed 5* Malik Newman for 2015 and Alabama has a 5* verballed for 2016. Kentucky will obviously always be in the discussion for #1 recruiting class, but Auburn, Texas A&M, Alabama, Mississippi State and LSU have all stepped up the recruiting.

Super Tuesday has been a little dull the last couple years but starting this year, it looks like it will be must watch.

Bama got beat so bad @ Dayton yesterday, the fans were chanting:

STICK TO FOOTBALL STICK TO FOOTBALL STICK TO FOOTBALL

''I would do it 10 times over again,'' Johnson said of choosing to play at Dayton, which has made two straight NCAA appearances. ''Because think about what's going to happen in SEC play. We've got seven or eight really talented, terrific teams, and then everybody else is capable of winning. We've got to schedule real games. That's what this game was about.''

Who are the 7 or 8 "terrific teams"?
