Richard Sherman, shamed in his superbowl loss to the mighty Patriots, is on Bradys side.

So are you saying the Patriots and Brady have no part in the circus that has been created? Because to me they have embarrassed themselves just as much in this situation with how they have handled this. They fired 2 guys right after all this went down but then tried to claim they did nothing wrong. Why do you fire 2 guys if they did nothing wrong? Brady destroyed key evidence and tried to play it off like it was no big deal. The Patriots tried to do the whole "Deflate" meant the guy was trying to lose weight thing. They have pretty much tried to make us the common man think we are idiots for even thinking the Patriots could have done something wrong. When all of this could have been avoided if Brady from day 1 just said "Sorry didn't realize it was a big deal." This whole thing is avoided, the team/Brady is fined and everybody moves on. It was their insistence that they were/are innocent in this entire situation that forced the NFL to have to do what it did. I'm not saying the NFL looks good in this situation as obviously they don't but to me both sides look like complete idiots.

Of course........The Pats/Brady are more responsible for the circus.....Im sure Sean Payton thought the penalties on him were too harsh, but he is accepted them and moved on pretty rapidly.....This is Brady* terrified of how this affects his legacy....This is Roger Clemens all over again....

Settlement?

I would expect a complete wipe out of all suspensions, penalties and fines
not if there is a SC precedent.

goodell, nash and wells literally handled this thing like a group of special ed kids trying to use a rubix cube, but there is precedent.

and thats that.

So how would you say that Brady and the Patriots then have handled this situation?

I don't think he will completely wipe out the suspension. He will keep 1 game for conduct detrimental + non-cooperation.
But again I thought that there was no way Goodell keeps all 4 games after the appeal.

Oh look Peyton Manning with knowing how much the Patriots like to push the edge of legal wouldn't even talk about plays in the locker room when they visited Gillette Stadium because he thought the Patriots had bugged the visitors locker room. Even if not true should show just how much the rest of the league thinks of the Patriots and how they conduct themselves.

Like the classy, upstanding gentlemen they are, of course! That's a first rate organization in New England -- beyond all reproach.

Ex-Patriot players would tell their new teams to be careful what they would say in the locker room before the game when they would visit the Patriots. Yup very upstanding organization when teams can't even trust the Patriots to abide by the rules.

just as poorly.

kraft trusted goodell to stay with whatever hand shake agreement they had (agreeing to the fine and picks). brady with his phone, mona lisa vito, the press conference, etc.

brady has a very very valid claim...but unfortunately, there is precedent and the idiot majority of players voted this CBA in.

Where/when in the past has the league suspected improper actions, allowed them to continue and then set up a sting? In a sense they initiated this because they have been lax about ball prep and then threw the titanic at Brady because he's Brady. He should have been fined, no more.

I'm not the one trying to paint my organization as some boy scout perfect organization like you. I have no problem admitting that my team did not abide by the rules. I will say the team still would have won 2 Super Bowls as the league did determine the team did not have any kind of advantage. All they did was delay payments to players. No extra money was exchanged.

Well I would say what happened in New Orleans seems pretty similar. The whole payment system had been going on for quite some time. I'm sure the league knew about it and eventually stepped in. And I think he would have been fined if he from day 1 said he made a mistake (just like we hear all the time from guys suspended for PED's). Everybody then can just move on without this huge investigation and now having to take this whole thing to court. Look again never said the league is innocent in this whole thing or isn't coming out with some major egg on their face. I'm just saying the Patriots and the League have both handled this whole thing terribly.

Yup, cause the NFL continues to feel pretty strong about its case against Brady*

And in spite of what Rock "accidentally" omits while reporting from the courthouse, the Judge's findings were that both sides were at fault

You at the beginning of this whole thing kept talking about how innocent they are. You still post articles left and right about how the footballs could have been deflated because of natural causes or other reasons. You have posted articles about how Brady should be found innocent in this whole thing. You have posted articles about how the league is this big bully that is just after the Patriots because they are so successful. I mean months upon months of this entire General Board just being dominated by you with trying to show why the Patriots are the victim in this whole ordeal. Yes after the whole smashing of the cell phone you finally came out and said that maybe there is some blame to go around. Before that though man you were adamant that anybody who disagreed with you were idiots for even thinking the Patriots would do such a thing.

Oh I actually caught that one. It doesn't come across always well on a message board but that one was pretty loud and clear.

...but what if the league just lightened up and brought the consequence more in line with the severity of the infraction and the precedent actions taken for similar stuff. Why is the league obligated to be so heavy handed?
