Dantonio said that about his rival, a team that was undeservedly arrogant despite having not accomplished shit for decades.

You aren't going to be "skull fucking" anybody anytime soon. You are our bitches, and you have been for over a decade now, and will continue to be for years to come. Sit back and enjoy the show.

We can't compete on paper with these two schools, but will see BOTH of your schools soon enough.

We at OState will travel anywhere, anytime and against anybody that wants a game.

Arrogance is always undeserved... being proud is one thing but I'm sure you wouldn't know the difference between the two.

A rival's been down and like many times before the other team's capitalized. This is something O$U fans who just hopped on the bandwagon wouldn't know, so I'm not going to fault you on that. I'm sure OSU fans who experienced the Cooper years have a firm understanding of this (even though he wasn't terrible his record v. Michigan was).

Keep thinking Harbaugh is Hoke, RR, and Lloyd, you'll be in for a rude awakening.

Michigan is just trying to recapture that excitement from the turn of the 19th century.

And so far, the whole "Harbaugh will be different" line is undeserved. Rich Rod was successful at a major conference before Michigan and after Michigan. So just because someone was successful somewhere else, does not mean he will be successful at his new place. Let's let Harbaugh win some real football games instead of us continually talking about his 198-0 record in theoretical games. Until he ACTUALLY does something he is Hoke and RRod.

LOL, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings.

I've been a Buckeye since I was born, I got my education there, and still attend as many games as I can even though I don't live in Columbus anymore. The Cooper years, in case you don't know how to research, are the anomaly for OSU recently. Despite his putrid 2-10-1 record vs michigan, Ohio State still is up 16-14-1 in my lifetime. Cooper was also very clearly no Urban Meyer.

Since you're new around here, I'll let you know I've touted Harbaugh more than I probably should. I believe he'll bring you guys back from your pit. However, he also is no Urban Meyer. Assuming he is going to somehow become just as good or better is ignorant. I will be in for no rude awakening.

As I stated before, you are unquestionably still our little bitch. Maybe you should act accordingly and stop making your fanbase look so sad and desperate.

Historically, Michigan is no more overrated than any other CFB team has been--the key word being "historically." From the point of view of "history," Michigan still has the most all-time wins of any CFB team and holds the edge in wins on both Michigan State (68-33) and Ohio State (58-46), Michigan's closest rivals. Even with recent poor seasons and even in the unlikely event the Wolverines were to continue to win only 5 games each season, it would take more than six years for the next closest team in D-1 (Notre Dame at 882) provided that team won every one of its games. So, historically, Michigan is not overrated.

On the other hand, it is true that the team has not won a B1G conference championship since 2004 or an NC since 1997 when the Wolverines went undefeated. Michigan has suffered a number of "mediocre" and even "poor" seasons the last 18 years. But, 18 years does not equal the "history" of CFB although some posters like to think it does. Most every CFB team of note has suffered similarly.

If posters want to point to only the last 18 years of well over 100 years of CFB history, they are right, and Michigan fans ought to expect them to be "gleeful." Michigan football has been "mediocre" at best. But, as even the most cursory examination of CFB history shows, the dominance of any team at any time is cyclical. It's a fact every fan of every dominant team in CFB history has simultaneously wanted to deny and feared: The mighty fall mightily--sooner or later. But, that doesn't mean that they won't rise again. History is fickle.

What people are pointing to is not the last 18 years, more towards the last almost 60 years with one shared national title. That 60 years is also almost half the life of your program. People were using the same argument against Ohio State with one national title in the last 40-50 years before this year.

OK. Then, the OP should have said "In the last 60 years. . ."

BTW, how many NCs does MSU have in that time (since 1954)? I'll answer that: They have been named named national champions twice in the Coaches Poll (1952 and 1965). So, once within the last 60 years.

I like to break it down into two periods. Pre 1950 and post 1950. I think that's fair.

Pre 1950 Michigan can make a case for being the best program in college football and I wouldn't argue.

Post 1950 I'd say Michigan is anywhere from 10-15 and that's probably being fair IMO. Having one national title in 65 years hurts their cause.

I would agree with the OP, only because they are still thought of as a top 8ish program historically when they haven't been that in the last 65 years.

I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone was claiming that Michigan State was one of the most historic programs in college football, please direct me to that post. Otherwise you are just deflecting from what the opinion of the OP was.

You also don't hear Michigan State get talked about as one of the greatest of all-time like you do with michigan.
