Nice work starting the thread at 4:20PST. The division is exactly what we expected: a hot mess. Anyone can win it, I think. Red Sox are lucky to be afloat given how bad their hitting AND pitching have been.

At 14-27, it might be about time for the A's to think about blowing it all up. As much as Billy Beane fashions himself as the "smartest guy in the room", that Josh Donaldson trade has to be in the running for worst move of the offseason.

There was no reason to trade him. He was under team control through 2018. Red Sox should have been in on him.

No way the A's are this bad, but the hole's getting deeper and deeper. They'd essentially have to play at a 100+ win pace for the rest of the season to have a good shot at the postseason. Possible, but leaves very little room for a bad 10 game stretch or two.

i was a huge letterman fan back in college, wed get together and burn and laugh.

i love colbert...but i dont know how his persona is going to translate from sarcastic comedy news anchor to late night host.
