I thought that injury would mark the return of Salty. Not sure when he clears waivers.
What is Doug Beerabelli up to??
Bosox usually panic and pick him up when they need a crappy catcher.

Nah, the excuse I mostly hear is that they're a mediocre team at best, but hopefully not last place material.
Gammons isn't even that dumb.
They can take the division.
Counsell announced as Brewer's new manager. That dude had a funky batting stance.
Cuz it's a crappy division!

No, the AL East is.
The Cubs need to take this series from the Cardinals.
I remember during his playing days that he was already being touted as a "future manager" type of guy.He was also very tight with the Selig family...worked with a cousin of his and they both knew Bud, families did things together all the time, etc. I suspect that's not completely a merit hire.
Counsell did have a reputation for being an incredibly intelligent ballplayer, and his cousin agreed that he was a sharp cookie.
Thought we were talking about the Bosox???

any of you guys catch the fight?
I went to LA to watch the fight with about 15-20 people. It was pretty good. The first 6 rounds were great. Then Mayweather basically "ran out the clock" on Pacquiao. But it was cool getting a group together for a fight. It had been a loooong time. Maybe since the Tyson days. It would be nice to have boxing be relevant again.
We were then I brought up other teams. Not popular I know, but every now and then this thread veers from Boston-centric.
its a tradition that harkens back to cbs.Yah, is there something we could do about that??
That's a wicked pissah when that happens.

todays darwin award winner...
Most fun I ever had watching boxing was a big ppv party for Holyfield vs. Foreman...the whole room was jumping and even a drunk yelling "LAY THE BEEF ON HIM, GEORGE!!!" for the whole fight was somehow hilarious. People were talking about that fight for weeks before and after.
Foreman was anchored on two oak trees. He could suffer massive abuse and if he laid the beef on someone, they were out like a light.
