Hopefully Indycar will rebound from that disaster last week-end in rain drenched NOLA raceway park. Long Beach is an established race and hopefully the teams will get back to Indycar racing at its best.

After the first practice, Dixon and Kanaan take P1 and P2 respectively and Ryan Hunter-Reay completes the top three. Pagenaud brings home fourth.

Power, Pagenaud, and Dixon take practice 2. Maybe this is the week-end that Pagenaud wins.

After the Firestone fast 6 it looks like Castroneves takes the pole.

I'll take Montoilet, Castroneves, and Hunter-Reay for the podium.

Let's see if Montoilet can hold off Pagenaud and Kanaan.

Dixon appears to have this race in the bag barring any mishaps.

Castroneves comes home second and Montoilet holds off Pagenaud and Kanaan for third.

If the usually late season charging Scott Dixon wants to win a fourth series championship, he sure gave his chances a boost today. It was another good day for the Chevy teams: Honda still has work to do.

Here's how we did:

IndyAndy: 8 points - picked top two steps of the podium.
Retroram52: 3 points - picked Castroneves for 2nd.

Season Totals so far:

IndyAndy: 12 points
Retroram52: 5 points

Next Up: Barber Motorsports Park, next Sunday. :)

I don't get any points for having Montoilet out of place? Just wondering Indy.

Dixon's win was a bit mundane but the real excitement of the race was the battle for thirds between Montoya and Pagenaud in the closing 20 laps and then it got even more exciting when Kanaan and Bordais started closing in on Pagenaud and it became a very entertaining race for third spot! JPM proved once again why he is really one of the very best drivers on the planet as his blocking skills have been displayed in each of the first three races of the season. NASCAR fans like to make it seem as if he is some kind of second or third rate driver but in reality he is one of the very greatest to take the wheel of any race car! Power had one thing after another go terribly wrong for him since qualifying, kind of felt bad for him.

And Ryan Hunter-Reay folded like a cheap suit in a rain storm. Just mind boggling how a guy can be so dominant one year and toastola the next. Doesn't help to switch from Chevy to Honda but apparently the Japs gave Andretti a boatload of cash and all the engines he wanted.
