I know they have their own site, but I like talking on this site with the regulars.

I started this to confess my sins. I actually turned it off on last INT with just over 5 to go. Watched a recorded episode of NYPD Blue for health reasons (Hawks were killing me and I had my 5 month old grandson with me). After show it went back to last channel which was Hawks game channel where I saw Bennett riding a bike around the field and thought that is a weird reaction after losing a playoff game. Turned on computer to ESPN and turned to my wife and said, 'Want to hear something crazy? Seahawks won.' She didn't believe me so I showed her and she started crying. Mother F'er. :yahoo:

Me either. Brother was at game and comes down every spring training since 2008 and just got the tix for this year for him. He texted me and said, 'See you in February'. He is coming for the Super Bowl. Unreal. My neighbors are Cardinals season ticket holders, but Packers fans. He just told me he was looking at Super Bowl tickets as Hawks recovered on-side kick. He stopped looking. His wife was crying afterwords. Going to be tough time in the neighborhood for a couple of weeks as well as at work where my colleague is from Wisconsin and of course a cheesehead.

Since were a little OT here, I was reading some forums around and saw the name Phredmojo posted, with his tag saying resurrected. I tried to send him a PM but his or mine are disabled or something.

The last I remember of him was years ago in the ESPN forum when we were told that he had died in a car accident.

Phred if thats really you I'm happy to see that you are alive but if it was just a joke all along that was a pretty lame thing to put people through, people were really bummed about that.

I even brought up his name in remembrance on the forums when the Seahawks won the super bowl last year.

Yeah you are probably right, it was worth asking about though. It would have been cool if he was still around even if it was a lame thing to do to us all.

Hopefully this guy posts something.

I didn't know Phred very well but we all were around the same forums for years so it was a bummer to see him pass on when he did.

totally agree with your opening sentence. I'd rather talk with 'baseball-first' fans about football than talk to 'football-first' fans about football. Baseball-first fans are more intellectual. We have to be because it takes more intelligence to understand what is going on on a baseball diamond than it does on a football field.

And while we are on the subject - this is thee golden era of Seahawk football in our lifetimes. Hopefully it lasts another 3-4 years, but it will never be another Seahawk era like this while we are alive. Enjoy it.

Agreed and agreed.

Bad news on my brothers part, he didn't win the ticket lottery for the second year in a row though he has had season tickets since day one. Now he has to pay over $2K for nose bleed ticket. He is debating it as of this morning.

I feel like I need to post this in public to take my deserved beatings...

My wife and I were in our regular seats for the game yesterday, in Section 313. As the game got towards the end of the first half, we were both cold, miserable, tired from not sleeping the night before (no good reason, just neither of us got any sleep), in a bad mood because of the game and a stupid pre-game spat over nothing and we debated leaving early. My wife was convinced she was bad luck and the Hawks would do better if she left (She told me this about five times, although that is not unlike her). I was contemplating whether I actually wanted to go and pay to see a Super Bowl of which the Seahawks were not a part (already had booked everything but the game ticket, with plans of going, regardless of the teams) . We made it through halftime, saw the Hawks start to drive on their 2nd possession, then saw Russell get sacked for a loss of 15 and what I thought was 15 more tacked on for a personal foul, and I made the call: "Fuck it, let’s just go. Maybe they'll do better".

I was in the restroom on the way out as they scored on the fake FG. We wavered, but still decided to leave. We had just gotten home as Russell ran his TD in. We freaked out as they recovered the onside kick, and Beastmode went Beastmode into the endzone. She got pissed at the Packers for driving and getting the FG. She hugged me and cried when Kearse hauled in the game-winner.

Not sure if we’re the worst fans ever, but we certainly weren’t bringing any positive energy to the stadium, and I’m not pissed that we left and missed it. What matters is that the Hawks kept at it and pulled out a “miracle”, not that I was there to see it. I don’t know if I believe in Sports Superstition or not, but maybe it wouldn't have happened had we stayed.

Go Hawks!

High praise to those who stayed in that windy cold environment to watch the team finish the season. The odds were highly stacked against them to win that game. It took some balls, skill, luck and determination to even get the game close and then some more luck to go ahead and even more luck to get the 2 pt conversion. Then they had to hold off the MVP from scoring a TD. A little more luck at the coin toss and the rest was history.

There is no slut shaming here for thinking it was over and it wasn't our year. I even thought that NE won a SB and then didn't make it the next year and then won two in a row after that, so maybe that is how it will be for this team as well. After the 4th INT I said out loud that I thought the game was over, but of course there was still time and a magician at the helm, so I stayed on my couch to see what would happen.

We are livin' the dream right now and I am also carefully looking around the corner at baseball season and seeing some signs of life.

Yea that game was pretty much nuts and incredible is the only way to describe it. I still wasnt 100% convinced when I woke up this morning that it was real. I know they are a 4th quarter team but never that extreme. It was hard for me not tear up slightly when I saw Russ tearing up post game. Just a great moment to pick himself up after that rough game.

As much as I love the Seahawks, the M's are always my first love. I got spoiled during that 95 season and couldnt detach myself after that. I can only imagine the M's having a moment like the Hawks had yesterday. Playoff baseball was awesome and I hope we can enjoy it soon.

Just wrote the same about '95 to a friend on facebook who showed a picture of him at the game yesterday. Mariners '95 playoffs was the greatest live sports experience of my life. 4 hour roundtrip to every game was well worth it.

watching the m's rise in the early 90s is still the biggest sports memory for me. i was getting into the team right before i got my license, and then when 94-95 hit, I was driving me and a bunch of friends out from Port Angeles to Bainbridge Island to take the ferry out to games every weekend. The end of the regular season at the Kingdome was just unreal in 95, and I was there for just about every game.

where were you driving from?

for me, it was port angeles to bainbridge island (about 90 minutes) and then the 45 minute ferry ride to pier 52.

just glorious memories.
