According to Buster Olney, Rollins has indeed waived his 10/5 rights and agreed to a deal to Los Angeles. I will temper my enthusiam until I hear what was sent to Philly. Rollins is a perfect bridge to Corey Seager, who will be ready to man SS on opening day 2016 if not earlier.

Hopefully that is the thinking because Rollins is washed up.

He only has one year left on his deal at 11 million. Cory Seager will be the starting SS on opening day 2016, no worries

Nice to see you back around KSU.

This is a good deal since I doubt they would give up good prospects for a rental who most likely won't bring back very much for the Phillies due to his no trade clause.

Why did they trade Dee Gordon?

Why did they trade Dee Gordon?

Heaney better become an All-Star, Dee Gordon finished 25th in MVP voting, was an All-Star and lead the league in Triples and stolen bases last year. Heaney is the Marlins' top prospect, the Marlins were actually unwilling to trade him for Lester last year and we do have Justin Turner who can step in the starting 2nd base slot.

It's a gamble that I'm not too happy about right now, but I'm willing to wait and see how this all plays out. Got to give this front office a chance to prove their worth.

Just saw the deal, it's Gordon and Haren for left-hander Andrew Heaney, second basemen Enrique Hernandez, right-hander Chris Hatcher and catcher Austin Barnes. Basically got a bunch of good prospects for Gordon (who can be replaced by Turner) and Haren (practically worthless). It's a good trade if Heaney turns out to be as good as he's said to be.

Rollins is a great bridge to Seager...

thing is this deal is still be worked on, potential of a 3 team deal or even adding to it to make it blockbuster. Rollins will be a Dodger, but the details are still being worked on.

It's a great deal and now you can applaud me for my Han Ram insight.

Also, for the guys who question the Dee trade, it's a move based upon OBP. Freidman/Zaidi value OBP big time and if you're lead off guy is not getting on base, he's not fitting into their vision. Brilliant trade as Dee's value will never be higher.

Everything I've seen says that the deal has been agreed to already, they're just waiting for the Commissioner to accept it since cash is also being sent along with Rollins.

I'm sure Rollins and his .250 batting average will be a stellar lead off man. Nothing wrong with a 36 year old who's regressed for the past several years lol. Dee Gordon actually had a higher OBP than Rollins last year, shows how much some people know around here. Rollins is a stop gap, nothing more.

Who said Rollins was to replace Dee? Rollins contract is expiring after this season. It's a stop gap to Seager. Plus, Utley might be in the mix, MASSIVE upgrade over Dee.

And an aging Rollins is a HUGE defensive upgrade from Han Ram. Like what I'm seeing.... Some more pieces need to fall in place, but this off season strategy has been excellent to date starting with letting Han Ram go and bluffing on the Lester bidding war to drive up price.

I agree, he's a defensive upgrade, he's a huge offensive downgrade as well. I've asked for proof that the Dodgers were bluffing and you have yet to provide any, you're basically talking out of your ass half the time.
