I dont think minnesota should be to picky on what they should get in return for Love because love already made it clear he is leaving for minnesota I think the #1 pick of the draft is a great compensation for love if they keep being greedy they will end up with nothing and its not like baseball where if your star player leaves you get a compensation pick in the draft

i don't know why but I just don't buy love as an elite player. I think he is the modern antawn Jamison. someone has to score for teams that don't have much. u join a good team and the player just isn't the same player

I dont get why people bash kevin love and not call him a star in the league what does he have to do on the court to earn that title? Average 30Ppg and 20 rebounds?

LOL no it's not enough. Not even vaguely. This is where the homerism needs to stop.

NOBODY is giving up an All star without getting quality in return. A rookie, a few low draft picks and a first round bust is not even CLOSE to value. Get real.

This is why he won't get traded to Cleveland. NONE of you are living in reality.

I think YOU are the one that doesn't get it. The deal GS is offering is LIGHT YEARS better than what you currently have on the table.

You also seem to forget that salaries have to match.

Nope, pretty sure you don't get it. Star trades like this are never equal value because the star holds the leverage. It's always something like 35 to 40 cents on the dollar. Neither package (GS or Cle) is close to equal value.

As for the topic itself, yes, I'd trade him. Because I'm trying to win now. Wiggins might be fantastic, but it's likely 3 or 4 years down the road before you could win a title with him, James, and Irving. And that's if Wiggins does ever get there. Love is a known commodity that's just starting his prime. I know for sure I can contend with him, Irving, and Lebron.

I'm not bashing. I just don't think he is an elite player. I think if u give a lot of average players the keys to an offense they will put up good numbers

I get that. What I'm saying is what Cleveland is offering without Wiggins isn't even another starter. And WITH Wiggins it isn't much better.

The GS trade is a LOT better IMO......I would have made that deal in a heartbeat.

The thing you don't realize, is they could get NOTHING for him if they wait. So #1 pick 19 years old (could be great), an improving 20 year old, and maybe throw in TT (23 year old) and 1st rounders. You can't go wrong and get picky with that. They won't have much better than that, unless they get Klay and that ain't happening.

They didn't offer klay, so they won't take it. Lee and Barnes is not good value, especially since Lee is 32.

They aren't going to trade him for the worst offer on the table, that's the point!

They might do so if we were a week away from the trade deadline......but that isn't the case right now. They can afford to wait for better offers.

I think they will get most by trading him before the season. If Love gets hurt Minny is screwed. If they wait late in the year Love can really dictate alot. I still see them moving him this summer, to a place he may be willing to sign a deal. Maybe like Lebron he decides to do a high salary very few years deal. He is young enough to go that route.

Minny has to make a decision soon

I don't agree. Some contending team may start the season off slowly, and be a little more desperate to make a move.

Patience pays off here, to a POINT. The only decision they need to make is a deadline of when they want to move him, whether that's this summer or during the season. They have nothing to lose at this point. All they need to do is wait for an offer that's in the ball park of what they want, which they clearly haven't gotten.

Star you may be right, but if he gets hurt, Minny has really lost leverage. One significant injury and the franchises plans change. One could argue either, but I would go with pushing GS and Cleveland hard, perhaps adding a third team into it and push a deadline by season start.

An easy No.

Wiggins would be traded based on potential, barring a atrocious season the likes of which we have seen very few times (also incredibly unlikely with Lebron to pass it to him and free him up), he will have the same value after one season, if not more. Its very unlikely his stock will tumble so far that he would not be worth about the same at worst. After one season Love will indeed be a free agent, then they could sign him outright, and possibly have another stud in Wiggins, or simply trade him then.

Fact of the matter is that right now, the Cavs need Love more than the Wolves need to trade him.

If the Cavs really think they need him to win now, then they need to give up a Wiggins if that's what it takes.

I know some moves can still be made, but as of today, your current group of bigs is worse than any group that James played with in Miami.

Also everyone thinks they need to win now. Why is that?

Lebron said he knows they arent ready to win now and it could take time.

*Cough*

:laugh3:

So why :laugh3: do they need to win now?

I know somebody read that letter.

With you Immical on that. Cleveland needs to give LBJ what he wants. Rosters w/o talent wont attract him or others. He can leave in two years and say they did not hold their end of the bargain. Heck he could be in NY in two years

Right! That was his sales pitch to Miller/Allen :bullshit:

Anyway, not that I think James, himself, wrote one word of that letter, but how can the best player in the world ever publicly say that he doesn't think that the team he hand picked to be on isn't ready to win?

Managing expectations and his PR person who wrote it said you must he opposite of his original decision and hence:

1. written and not spoken.
2. A PR person's words and not his.
3. Humility versus hubris (not 1, not 2, not3).
4. ETC., ETC.

No doubt they can wait, but their leverage will decrease as time goes on. Cleveland could fold and give them Wiggins, but that's the best they would have right now. Not many teams have young, potential assets they are willing to give up.

Tough question.

On the one hand, Wiggins has been called "The Next Lebron" and they have the chance to have him mentored by "The Original Lebron".

On the other hand, Love makes the Cavs the favorite to come out of the east.

Really though, it's the Cavs, so something bad will happen either way. If they don't trade for Love, Wiggins will be a bust. If they do, Love will suffer a career altering injury and Wiggins will become a superstar playing for someone else.
