Miami's big 3 is more than enough to contend for titles for the next few years. They just need the right pieces and role players around them to make it work. Adding Melo to the mix seems great on paper, but it's more of a move you make on NBA 2k not in real life.

I would much rather add a wing player who can guard multiple positions and can hit a three.

Someone like Trevor Ariza would be perfect

Miami also needs to bolster the front court with some size and rebounding without having to trudge out a dead weight center.

Perfect player for that would be Spencer Hawes. Very agile big man who can pass, hit the 3, and rebounds well.

That's why your name is logical...but if these guys unite, it is because they are friends who want to play together.

I'm all for it.

Hell, let him be there tonight!

Carmelo added to that team means a minimum of 15 possessions where LeBron never touches the basketball.

If that were to happen, Spurs would finish this off in 5.

I've been done with the NBA for years!

I say this has a 30-35% chance of happening.

'Yet my favorite team is the Celtics and I take the time
to post on NBA sports threads, while trying to evaluate the % of Anthony joining the Heat' :wtf2:

One way to look at it, but wouldn't another one be that Anthony would be on the court during the minutes James was resting?
Also, the article stated that James understands the importance of playing less regular season minutes.

Despite none of these players being old or washed up,
they certainly aren't young and all have logged a lot of miles.

If it does happen, it was be a fun few years but that's about it.

Melo isn't going anywhere. He can make more money in NY and he wants to be there.

It's basically just basketball fans. We like to see competition. The Heat already play in quite possibly the worst most watered down conference in the history of the sport. Now the players might collectively try to water it down even more by all opting out, signing for less, and bringing in one if the only superstars left in that conference. And this after the artificial bringing together of the big 3.

That's not going to sit well with any fan of the sport.

I'm against superstar players teaming up. I think MJ said it in an interview, back in the day people wanted to prove they were the best and they did that by being the man on their team. they didn't go and get their buddies and form the best team to make winning easier.

How many hall of fame teamates did lebron, wade, or bosh had before deciding to play together?? Now count how many jordan had... I'll admit if carmelo comes to miami that might be pushing it. But that's his choice.

haha, you guys are funny...
"Melo sucks no D, Bosh is soft not worth a max, Wade looks like he's 40 he'll never play a full season again

... and yet....

"I'll never watch the NBA again if this happens, no competition, not fair, I want my mommy, stars are supposed to love money more than winning"

BTW, even with Melo this Heat team wouldn't touch some of the true superteams of the past, in terms of HOF on one team.

And the reason he hasn't re signed yet is what?

Maybe he does stay, but if he knows he is the smartest move is to make it be known and then try to find ways to upgrade the roster.

Maybe he wants an extension, or maybe he likes the drama/attention? Who knows, he's a millionaire diva so most of us can't really get into his shoes.

I don't buy this.

We didn't see this outrage over the recent Laker title teams. Or the Celtics. Stars coming together to win is NOTHING new in this league. You can make excuses over how it was done, but it was still done, and from that perspective, there is no difference.

EVERY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE is trying to get as many superstars on their roster as possible, including the one YOU root for!

Miami has been successful at doing it, and now we have a problem with it? Really?

If Miami can pull this off, more power to them. Don't blame Miami, blame your OWN front office for not getting it done!

I agree too. The good GM's are really showing themselves in the post CBA era, and Riley is at the top

Exactly.
We can't think like them because we aren't them.
James just banked 30M for walking around in a headset.

There is only so much cash these guys can spend, if it's managed correctly.
If it isn't managed correctly, then it really makes no difference what they earn.

Warren Buffet is a multi billionaire who still invests to make more, yet he still resides where he lived before he gained his wealth.
It's all about comfort, friends, and in his case neighbors.

Everyone puts their own value on those things, and that cumulative value between these 4 players will ultimately decide this.

Some of your points are very valid (though I think over-exaggerated). However, its the way they are trying to go about it that people don't and are not going to like. The Heat had probably the easiest route to the finals ever - and now they are trying to make it easier. Fans want to see competition, while the Heat are trying to shy away from it.

The only ones who are going to like this will be Heat fans. When you are completely on an island, its fair to say your bias may be getting in they way of your thinking.

Even if Lebron was just as good of a player than Bill Russell, it will NEVER HAPPEN. The NBA is far more competitive and balanced now than it was in Russell's day. In Russell's day, the other teams were weak and watered down.

Well of course if is impossible. A lot more conpetition and teams now.

Norris Cole might have a chance he switches frok championship team to championship team. :laugh3:
