With the talk of endorsement deals, would be funny to see the three opt out and join the Knicks.

Knicks don't have cap space, and although obviously NY is a huge market, you don't need to play there to get endorsements. Plus, LeBron doesn't like snow.

Next, to Lakers fans, weren't you guys all about adding Howard, Paul + Kobe ( before he broke down)?

Stating tough shit to the rest of the league because luxury tax meant nothing to the Lakers, citing their new TV deal?

If Melo goes to the Heat I will also quit watching the NBA. It wouldn't even be fair anymore.

I don't think Melo will do it though. I'm not sure he wants to play with Lebron. I'm sure they are friends and all, but I think Melo wants to go to a team where he'll create his own offense. I doubt he'll want to camp out by the three point line and wait for Lebron to dish it to him.

This would be a complete a joke. Its already bad enough the way Miami is. How much more help can "one of the greatest players" in LeBron possibly need?

It's one thing to have a free agent pop up or two. It's another to make a trade (wasn't that Gasol). But it's a whole other thing to have 3 all stars from 3 different teams all collectively decide to go to a team.

If you haven't noticed yet - the entire basketball world has not quite embraced the Decision.

Terrible idea for Miami. As a Heat fan, i do not want him. They need to get an upgrade at PG and a good center so that Bosh can go back to the 4.

For the record, I don't buy that this will happen, but I honestly cannot find another word(s) other than ludicrous and embarrasment of riches it did happen. Its one thing to have Boston's big 3, its one thing to have Kobe and Pau or Dwight, its one thing to have Miami's big 3.....but its an ENTIRELY different thing altogether to have the modern day dream team on one roster

Unless Lebron grows 2 more arms and the NBA starts allowing the game to be played with at least 3 basketballs, this will never work. Won't be able to keep everyone happy.

If this happens, I am done with the NBA...

Don't get too upset if this happens - it normally blows up when a team tries to put to many talented players together and one thing with Carmelo is that the ball stops with him. He ruins good ball movement. I think he would really wreck the chemistry.

Melo really doesn't fit. He's a black hole and he plays no defense. They'd also need to NOT start him, or bring Wade off the bench. Somebody needs to sacrifice more than just money, they'd need to sacrifice MINUTES, and there would need to be a defensive center or PF signed to help out for Melo.

I almost want this to happen to see the cartoon super villain levels of hate that will be thrown at Lebron and the Heat.......the comedy and amount of aneurysms and heads exploding would be insane

Yah like others said I could see Bosh leaving to be come the #1 or #2 on another team and get paid a shot ton. Then Melo comes to the Heat with Wade and Lebron.

He wants to make it as easy as possible and try and get those 11 rings, just to shut Bill the fuck up.

Even if Lebron was just as good of a player than Bill Russell, it will NEVER HAPPEN. The NBA is far more competitive and balanced now than it was in Russell's day. In Russell's day, the other teams were weak and watered down.

If Melo were to leave I'd rather it be for a team like the Wizards...not Miami.

* The Rockets are also interested.

And if he does somehow opt out... ol' zen meister Phil better do all he can to bring Kevin Love +/or Chandler Parsons to NYC.

* The Knicks could also use a legit point guard.

Miami's big 3 is more than enough to contend for titles for the next few years. They just need the right pieces and role players around them to make it work. Adding Melo to the mix seems great on paper, but it's more of a move you make on NBA 2k not in real life.

I would much rather add a wing player who can guard multiple positions and can hit a three.

Someone like Trevor Ariza would be perfect

Miami also needs to bolster the front court with some size and rebounding without having to trudge out a dead weight center.

Perfect player for that would be Spencer Hawes. Very agile big man who can pass, hit the 3, and rebounds well.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

In the case of the Heat, you would have 4 FREE AGENTS who are close friends possibly deciding to put the value of playing together to hopefully win championships together over the value max contracts.

In the Lakers case, they were trying to add 2 superstars to their roster who were currently under contract with other teams. Obviously to do that, you need to give those other teams something in return.

IF you could have kept Gasol and Kobe, while being able to add Howard and Paul, you guys ( Lakers fans) would frightfully have been all for it.
