Machi controls the damage to one run and the Giants still lead now 5-4. Need a insurance run here in the 8th.

Giants SWEEEP the Mets. Improve to 42-21 on the year.

Which means we have twice as many wins as losses :)

Giants take a bite out of the Mets winning 6-4 sweeping them out of town

After a night of going bonkers the mood was more subdued today at the yard where the weather was perfect and the Giants went a perfect 3-0 to start this 10 game home stand. Lincecum started and pitched well to most of the Mets except Granderson who hit 2 HR's and had all three RBI's against him. Lincecum gets the win going 6 innings giving up only 3 runs striking out 6 batters but more impressive was that he only walked one batter. A good bounce back game for Tim Lincecum.

On offence it was the White Shark Blanco who took over in that lead off spot from a resting Pagan and came through with a 2-4 day with 3 big RBI's leading the team to victory. Blanco has really turned his year around and has raised his average to .253 after being stuck on the interstate most of the year. His swing has really improved and you can see the work he has put in.

Crawford had a nice day going 2-3 scoring 2 runs and had a RBI to boot. Hicks had a really nice single in the 8th inning to drive in Crawford from 2nd base with a key insurance run with 2 outs in the 8th. The bullpen held the lead for Lincecum and Romo was spectacular in the 9th shutting down the Mets who looked ready to leave the City by the Bay after getting spanked three in a row.

Today it was one of those team wins that Championship teams win to get to that 90+ win mark at the end of the season. Today much props to the White Shark who did his thing taking a big bite out of the Mets as the brooms came out to celebrate the Giants 4th sweep of the year.

Next up it's the Washington Nationals for a big 4 game series. The Nationals have the talent to be a playoff team with Matt Williams at manager. Should be more fun out at AT&T Park this week as Vogelsong gets the ball Monday against Strasburg.

Another great team win in a season full of great team wins. Bravo !

Go Giants !!:grouphug:

I watched e Mets feed of today's game (just wanted to shake it up a bit).

They are actually quite good. They have a national feel. Hardly any homerism, except at one point where hey complained about den Decker's caught stealing in the first. They explained why it was a bad play, but there was distinct whining involved.

Overall, though, a very good broadcast team.

One thing that really got my attention was how much praise they put on the G's. they could not stop gushing at how solid this team is. Pitching, defense, clutch, 1-8. They said the only weak spot was the bench, but they said even that is only a weakness compared to the rest of the team.

When you have a god-like record in games where you score first AND you lead the league in come-back victories, that will lead to BRIB.

Yeah, after Sanchez, when the pinch hitters hit worse than the pitchers, who don't hit all that well to begin with, you know there's an issue.
