Took Duke's 3s and shoved it up their arses with the interior play..

Too reliant on the 3s and it came back to totally bite Duke! Also they can't play a team with an athletic big man!

I knew they shouldn't take Mercer lightly and I said it in another thread that this would be a terrible match-up for Duke and look what happened... Best of luck the rest of the way..

Mercer came in with a plan, and stuck to it. Don't understand why Duke didn't go to the basket with Parker more, but maybe that's just not their game? Mercer's zone seemed to rattle them a bit, which is surprising since Duke had to face that against Syracuse.

I suspect douggie had an idea this may have been coming, if not this game then soon. He was the first one that pointed out to me at the beginning of the season that Duke just didn't have enough inside game. Sure enough it was their undoing.

Maybe true in the long run, but they had no business losing this game. They got outcoached today, either coach K didn't know how to counter Mercer or he has no ability to control the way his team plays. Shooting 35 three's when you have two 6-8 lottery picks playing on each wing is inexcusable.

Tough game. Too reliant on the 3 and Parker. I'm surprised they haven't developed more of their interior options. We recruited Amile Jefferson and he'd have been a stud for us.

When you are a 1,2,3 seed every year, some years you're gonna do down. It's just odds.

The benefit is that you are in contention every single year, as you guys will be next year.

Duke never really has had an inside game. They only want to shot 3s and only really do inside on occassion. They could have gone inside more in the 2nd half but only shot contested ill-advised 3's
