Fed takes the first 6-4. The other three guys in his half are Anderson, Raonic, and Dolgopolov. No disrespect to those three, but Fed ought to make the finals. And between this and Miami, he could easily climb back into the top 4 heading towards the clay season.

Perfect match from Fed. 7 aces (not bad from two sets), and more importantly 15/19 points at the net, volleying beautifully and aggressively. I just don't understand why he can't translate this game against Nadal. Its all in the head I guess. Plus Nadal pulls all those other annoying antics on court that can really deflate an opponent.

Give it up Hs. Nadal does this in all the matches and players still beat him. Dolgopolov just beat Nadal with all his routines; the excuse does not do justice to the great one, Fed.

because federer has a hard time with high rpm and high bounces to his backhand.

very few players with one-handed backhands can handle shots exploding with that many RPM up around their ears over the course of a best of 5 match. all rafa has to do is keep going there with his HIDEOUS looking forehand, and he knows fed's shots will break down off that wing eventually. it's really sad to watch, actually, because it's so easy and predictable.

most of the time, nadal takes control of a rally on fed's first backhand (which is usually fed's first shot since that's where rafa serves 99% of the time), and fed simply cannot hit good approach shots from there. trying to come in more would make the matches end even faster given rafa's passing shots.

I think Nadal is still tentative with his back. Hopefully this time between IW and Miami will give him a chance to get it all better.

I'd actually like to see Jankovic pull this one out, but I think Radwanska will out-backboard her.

Radwanska up 5-2 in the first. I hope this is a straight forward straight set win so I can watch most of novak anf cilic before I go to sleep.

I want to see a rematch between Fed and Rafa on a fast surface with this new racquet Fed is playing with.

Looking like a 3rd set and plus the 1st set went longer then expected. I won't be seeing any of the novak match

Me too. We'll probably get our wish soon enough.

Fed really is looking more like himself with this racquet.

Izzy does it in two TB. He is like a shark in water when in TB, hopefully he can take Djoko out if Djoko is subpar.

Isner's return improves every month, it seems.

Nice to see him healthy again for the first time in awhile.

It's just so hard to imagine him doing a whole lot better given his lack of movement. He's one of the big guys who has really maximized his talents on the pro circuit.
